Led Zep will be re-uniting for a World Tour in 2006. Something that fans have been waiting for decades to happen. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have decided NOT to join the re-united ZEP. The band will be: John Paul Jones - bass, keys Manny Charlton - guitars Derek St Holmes - vocals Kenny Aranoff - drums This line up has the full support of Plant and Page who wish to move on in their careers rather than do a nostalgia act. ZEP will be doing a double bill with the CARS. This should be the biggest tour of the decade! LOL good one At least YOU know it's a joke....the others? I was just commenting on all this "New" CARS BS. Funny all these bands say KISS is milking it and low class. Yet they turn around and do the same things. I have come to the conclusion that the only time bands turn their noses up at stuff like this is when they didn't think of it first ;D

Thank god. i was hoping they would not blow it. Good after first listen usually means great to me. I'd have to say however that this is a LOT closer to QUEEN than the first record. Maybe RTB?

Dickinson never had it IMO. I always preferred Dianno era Maiden. NOTB, POM, and Powerslave are good. After that everything is half good half toal crap.

I've heard through the Molly Hatchet E-group that Roland was always kind of a dick.....which is weird because he's the only member of the original band that currrent MH leader Bobby Ingram speaks highly of . Ingram must think Hlubek is ok because he is in Molly Hatchet right now. Maybe I am just lucky. I always am afraid to meet one of my idols. I am sure they have their days. Roland was nice to us. Maybe because the rest of the guys were all sitting with us at a big table eating and talking. Maybe he thought "I better not be a dick, the rest are all nice". ;D Another thing I find is that some people's personality is just misunderstood. I have learned that many times guys are just "shy". It is hard to believe because they are idols to us. Think about it. Most guys get into R&R to try and be cool. Most of the good players I know were shy or geeks. They used music to be "somebody". Success doesn't make that go away. A lot of musicians have very poor people skills. I think that is why crazy partying and f***ing is part of R&R. Guys are just trying to catch up I never thought about it much until people started asking ME to sign stuff. It really took me aback. Sometimes people say stuff to you that you have know idea how to respond. My son(who is very shy) had a real hard time in the beginning. I am sure some people thought he was a "dick". Later on he was the most at ease at it. For example: One time a guy brought a Les Paul for the band to sign. I looked at it and saw names like CLAPTON, ALLMAN BROTHERS, KK and GLENN, SKYNYRD....many more. I looked at him and said "Man, I can't sign this. It will ruin it." I just couldn't make myself sign my name on that guitar. Hell, I was just Gene in a KISS trib. Maybe he thought I was a dick, but I just didn't see it that way.

I met Blackfoot on the STRIKES tour. They played a local festival. They were all cool and friendly to us "kids". They actually hung out with us and BS'd for a LONG time. I never forgot that.
In my KISS Trib days I got to meet and talk with Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer many times. They both were always cool. This spring Bruce got up with the band and played 4 or five tunes with us. That was GREAT! Eric Singer always likes to talk to my wife....I think because she could care less and she never talks about R&R to him. He's not a rock star but we got to hang with Bill Aucoin quite a bit as well. He is very interesting, the stories he has, he's the guy that needs to write a book.
Met Wendy O Williams, Wes Beech and the rest of the band on her first solo tour. All of them were WAY nice. It was very cool because I was in love with WOW at the time. however she didn't take me back to the hotel, dang!
Met SRA at a local show. Jackson actually remembered us kids talking with him and the band back in the day. He was a GREAT guy RIP. Jimmy Farrar was great as well. Duane Roland(one of my fave players) seemed to be reclusive. However after he found out we REALLY knew his work seemed genuinely touched and was cool. They all came out before the show and BS'd with us for quite awhile.
The only "celebs" that have ever been "dicks" around me were sports figures. Several of them have just walked right by my kids, who thought they were hero's. This was even at events they were supposed to sign at.
Athletes who have been real cool. Terrell Brandon and Tyrone Hill of the CAVS at the time. They were doing some signing and the "assistant" kept barking "no photos" when my kids asked both guys said NO PROBLEM "ignore her". Omar Vizquel was at a KISS event once. He was very nice and hung out with the crowd.
The funny thing is I never ask for them to sign anything. not interested. The only thing I had signed was the set list Bruce played with us. My son had a drum head signed by Eric Singer. He drum teched for him at an expo once. ES was just starting the first tune and his snare drum broke. My son grabbed his and quickly switched them out for Eric. After the show Eric wrote on the snare head. "To BJ, Thanks for saving me. Eric Singer, Indy 2005" Pretty cool.

Back in the Day HP. CREEM had cool photos but the writing was always retarded....almost a joke. HP at least had some real interviews about music.
These days I can't even stand to pick any of them up. Give me GUITAR mags anytime over that crap. In fact, even if you don't play, guitar mags will give you the greatest source of real info on your faves you can get. Go to the store and read a few off the rack. You be suprised you can enjoy them without playing.

Personally speaking I'd be interested in hearing the results if they were to reunite, as they're all excellent musicians, and Sykes is a phenomenal guitarist. Their 1st, self titled album was great, the second, with new musicians for the most part, was okay, it had its moments but wasn't up to the level of their 1st. It'd be good to hear John rocking again with some original tunes rather than going out as Thin Lizzy Personally....I'd like to hear it too.....but realistically I know it would sell about 3 copies. SYKES needs to try something new.

Who the heck cares about a Blue Murder "re-union"? 99.99999999% of people didn't even know they existed. I am amazed when some interviewer brings up a possible "re-union" to bands who had little or zero impact. Nothing against Blue Murder but they were hardly a blip on the R&R radar screen. Let alone a band that needs to "re-unite".

Midnight Special....always liked it better because most of the acts were playing live. KISS had one of their greatest moments on there. I too remember the TED NUGENT MS. I'll tell you the reason we all remember it. When else did we ever get a show with that many hard rock acts on in one night? Hell we all watched that one.

Yow, tough choice. I'd have to pick a singer since my singing sends our big malamute into hiding, or she starts howling muahahaha. I'd love to be Robin Zander or Rob Halford, my two fave singers of all-time. Robin one day and Rob the next. Edit: damn, it's too early to be spelling. Need more coffee. ZANDER...gooood!

I am going to be practical and say the guitar skills of Glenn Tipton. Although I am pretty well accomplished on guitar I always thought Glenn had the most well rounded skills of any axeman in the metal scene. He can play melodic and chaotic. He can do the blues. I am eclectic as well in my skills but I'd like to be at his level.
If you mean something I don't have......great singing skills.
How about a voice like
DEREK ST HOLMES ROB HALFORD PAUL STANLEY FREDDIE MERCURY
or even Brian Johnson ;D

KISS - PSYCHO CIRCUS. Not that it was a bad album.....but I expected something else. In fact when I heard the title track I REALLY couldn't wait for the cd. The rest of the tunes were good to bad. Nothing great.

I like all kinds of music. From big band to thrash. I generally prefer a male singer. Unless it is Wendy O Williams or Doro. I like those tough but sexy gals.
