I was reading an article in the new classic rock magazine, bruce was going on and on about how maiden is such a better band than metallica, better musicians etc..
now, I don't want to dredge up any more about the sharon osbourne vs. maiden stuff at all. And I know Metallica has put out a lot of bad stuff lately, but it seems weird to me. With that and some of bruce's grandstanding, doesn't it seem like he's begun to believe his own press just a bit?
Maybe it's just me because "seventh son" was the last album maiden put out that i actually liked. Brucey's solo stuff is great too.

Bruce has always been an ass, but then again it makes for good press. The worst thing for a band is for people to forget about them, so more power to him in that aspect. What would the rock world be without some controversy?

Dickinson never had it IMO. I always preferred Dianno era Maiden. NOTB, POM, and Powerslave are good. After that everything is half good half toal crap.

if it's true, I wouldn't think Bruce would have to go out of his way to bring it up

Dickinson should be past the point of juvenile comparisons to other veteran bands. Maiden is a great band, and Metallica hasn't released a "great" disc since ...And Justice for All. Then again, Maiden's last good one was Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Seems like Maiden may be on minute 14 1/2.
