H&H by a huge margin for me. I never listen to BOZ but spin H&H all the time.
IMO the only thing that makes BOB worth owning is RR. Diary is a much better album.

The current criteria is the RIGHT criteria...they just need to apply it.
To be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction; and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence.
We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction.
I have very FEW problems about who IS in. It's who ISN'T that irks me most. Sorry Jesse, the Sex Pistols belong. That ONE album launched a whole genre of music. To this day Sex Pistols is a known name influencing bands to this day.
The biggest issue is that the "governing body" cannot get past bands/music they do not like. Fortunately now that the public gets a little say things will change for the better.
If I were to be honest, and speaking towards the bands YOU really like...Skynyrd and the Allmans should get in...Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet, as much as I love them should probably NOT get in...at least for many years past their first eligibility date.
It's like the law of obscenity...You can't define it but you know it when you see it. That's the way I look at the HOF.

Gorham/Robertson Thin Lizzy
Judas Priest pretty much got BETTER with each lineup change.
The Young, Scott, Rudd and Williams AC/DC was the best

KISS - The Elder
Priest - Turbo
Billy Squier - Rock Me Tonight Video
Accept - Firing UDO and trying to become a Hair Band
CCR - Siding with the record company instead of John Fogerty
Kurt Cobain - shooting himself
Rob Halford - T2O
Maiden - Splitting with Dickinson
Bruce Dickinson - leaving Maiden
I gotta agree with the Chris Gaines thing...maybe the dumbest idea EVER.

Both guys can play but Tipton is by far the better player...IMO of course.

There are bands that don't only play the "hits" and do just fine. Cheap Trick plays a different set just about every show. Judas Priest were never afraid to shake it up. Maiden always plays different things. I have seen Horton heat 5 or 6 times in the last 2 years and never got the same set.
Bands that only play the "hits" are chicken shit.
Bands like KISS don't even really have "hits" and yet still insist on playing the same shit over and over.

Sorry I have not been around but I wanted to give you guys the heads up.
Just got back from UDO in Cleveland, AMAZING. UDO sounds fantastic, the mix was great and his band is really good. He only has like 12 US dates so don't balk at the chance. He may NEVER be back.
Only played 5 or 6 Accept songs but it did NOT matter. He ruled.

Seen the Rev a bunch of times. Always very good. He also always has great opening acts.
Huge rockabilly fan and wish I could find the right guys to put together a band but it is tough finding people who want to play it....as well as getting gigs.

The first CRUE album is a classic. Very original and fresh.
After they got success they just kept chasing after it again and again. They only got worse.

I haven't read any for quite awhile. I like to read about history and inner workings of bands. Not necessarily a fan of "tell all" type books There are a few I liked though. RUN TO THE HILLS - A very detailed Iron Maiden bio. About the size of a Bible. Has been printed with several different covers. mine has this one. KISS AND SELL - Very detailed book about the inner workings of KISS in the 70/80's. KISS and TELL - 2 "friends" of ACE Frehley through the 70/80's give their version of "ACE". If it was anyone other than ACE these might be unbelievable. You will read this one in a day because the stories are so strange. ACE is as weird as he seems.

It's interesting. I play bass in the current band I am in...even though I have been a guitar player for about 30 years, taught adult guitar at the local tech school and been a superior guitar player to most guys I played bass in bands with(see KISS Tribute) Once in awhile someone will hear or see me play guitar in a live situation...they ALWAYS act like it's some miraculous feat " YOU can play guitar!!!". I NEVER looked down on bass and love playing it...but it is so annoying and stupid to assume because I am the bassist I am some kind of dumbass. It's an EGO check to play bass because it's so derided. Most guys play bass because it's an easy gig to get anhd they aren't ego driven, ham, prima donnas who have to have the spotlight...well there IS Gene Simmons

Powerage is probably my 2nd fave but the guitar sound on LTBR makes that album my fave, thsoe guitars are SO LOUD you can hear their fingers hitting the strings before EVERY song.

I agree with FLICK. Underrated album for sure. BIB is the obvious choice but man most of those songs I hope to never hear again for the rest of my life.
