EVH is done....way too far gone. That waste can't even play anymore...let alone get his life together. He's a loser plane and simple.

Korn and the White Stripes have no business being on that list. And I like how Ozzy's 'No More Tears' is on there but 'Bark At the Moon' and 'The Ultimate Sin' are not, which are both better guitar records....and better albums in general. Just goes to show that alot of that is based on popularity and not quality.
Deep Purple should have been in the top 5. Guns N Roses shouldn't have. The first Van Halen record should have been in the top 3. Hendrix could have arguably been #1 strctly because of his influence. Zeppelin IV is overrated. Zeppeling I and II are better, as are III and 'Physical Graffiti'. I dug Nirvana...but not for the guitar playing. It was the songwriting and the power of the songs. When are these pollsters going to understand that? '2112' should have been on that list somewhere...probably in the top 25. I never had anything against Venom....but I really don't think Mantas' guitar playing influenced alot of people outside Black Metal...if at all. I think that Judas Priest should be on that list but not sure if for 'British Steel', which is a great record, but I think albums like 'Stained Class', 'Screaming For Vengence' and 'Hell Bent For Leather' were better guitar albums. Iron Maiden's 'Piece Of Mind' should be on there. I am going to stop there because I could go on all day....

The James Gang were a great band. I really love the first album the most....but 'Rides Again' was great and 'Thirds' was good to.

...even if that was the case it suited him just fine. Their has never been a more charismatic frontman in hard rock. Ever.... Nothing against "Diamond Dave"...but my vote for charismatic frontman goes to none other than the late, great, Freddie Mercury. Thanks Kim Freddie was cool...and he was charismatic....but I don't think he had near the charisma of DLR...especially back in the days of DLR era VH.

I BELIEVE MR. ROTH KIND OF TOOK THAT NAME FOR HIMSELF. AFTER ALL WE ALL KNOW HOW FULL OF HIMSELF HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN. ...even if that was the case it suited him just fine. Their has never been a more charismatic frontman in hard rock. Ever....

Probably because of how over the top and flamboyent he was. Also he embraced and was a symbol of the accesses of Los Angeles and Hollywood, in the late 70's to mid/late8 80's.If you think about it it is the perfect name for him.

I like old Kiss...Love Ace... but you know what...thought Michael Bruce was better. Great songwriter...great guitar player, and along with Glen Buxton, that was hard to beat. They wrote better, more meaningful songs. Kiss was much more popular...Alice Cooper Group was just better.

Too damn hard to compare. I might give a slight edge to Zeppelin for the impact they had during their time and the fact that I have every one of their albums and have worn them all out. But then again, I could just as easy go with Deep Purple because they have stood the test of time a little better to my ears. I dunno, depending upon my mood and the alignment of the stars I could vote for either on any given day, so I voted for "Neither, They are both just as good". Yeah that pretty much sums it up for me. Too hard to compare. I probably like Purple a little more and I am more into Blackmore as a guitar player....but Jimmy Page was a genious when it came to writing chord progressions. Blackmore was a genious with melody and was ahead of his time. Zeppelin was also the more stable band. Deep Purple had what four different line ups? Ritchie actually quit the band he started. I assume though that for comparioson purpose we are talking about the Purple Mark II lineup.

Every song I have heard by the Galactic Cowboys has outright sucked. Granted I have not heard an entire album's worth of material but what I have heard I just didn't like.
btw...I thought King's X was from Houston?

Dave Menniketti's solo in "Rescue Me" rules....good call.
Also another classic solo is on Night Ranger's "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", especially the first solo by Brad Gillis. That solo rips....
