I actually think that is a good album as well and gets a bad rap. The one thing I do not really care for about it is the amount of 1-2 minute interludes between actual songs. The guitars like every Priest album before it since 'Ram It Down' are pretty processed to....but in all I think it is a solid release.

Sorry for the late response Jesse....this is the first time I have logged on to the forum in almost a year. The forum has been overtaken by spam bots and I logged on just to see if you had been active.
Great analysis of the game. It was a fun game to watch because most people were counting the Bucs and Brady out. I was predicting a shootout because you had one of the best offenses in the league with the Chiefs against another top 10 offense....but you also had a pretty weak Chiefs defense against one of the best defenses in the league with the Bucs. I knew the Chiefs would give up points, but I also thought that between Mahomes, Hill and Kelce....the Chiefs offense would be hard to stop. So knowing that....I thought it was going to be a close game decided by a touchdown or field goal....and I thought it might go the Chiefs way. I just felt it was that kind of year for KC. Fortunately not.....I am a Raiders fan...lol. I also like the Pats,Brady and Gronk so I was rooting for the Bucs.
Hindsight is 20/20 as we know and when I think about it this game was kind of a mismatch. Mainly because of how good the Bucs defense was last season. Jason Pierre Paul was having an outstanding last part of the season and Devon White and the LB core of the Bucs might be the best in the league. Also you have Tom Brady....whose experience and confidence in post season and Super Bowls can not be understated. The Brady haters wanted to blame bad calls and two rookie offensive lineman on the loss....but TB also had a backup Offensive lineman in the game and I saw many holds from KC's offensive line that did not get called....among other no calls that went KC's way. The fact is KC got there asses kicked by a team that outplayed them, a coach and Offensive coordinator that outsmarted them, and a QB who just ripped apart their defense. This was an impressive win and I am curious to see what Tom Brady and the Bucs do next year. I don't think winning #8 is out of the question.

Its funny with bands. People still buy the CD's at the merch table at our shows. I few years ago we played in Wilmington and a girl approached us....said she only had $5 left in cash but really wanted the CD....she was younger to....so we gladly gave it to her for that. She obviously was going to actually listen to it....but I often wonder if many people buy the CD's for local bands as more of a way to show support and never really listen to them.
Congrats on finding a vehicle with a CD player! I intend on keeping my car for a while....I leased it new in 2012 and then bought it in 2016 so I still have 2 years of payments left. I intend on keeping it well after it is paid for. I hate having a car payment. I hope the CD player lasts as long as the car.....hahaha.

Not super into this era of Skynyrd as really Gary is the only one left from the original band if you are not counting Medlock being the original drummer. But I dig classic LS. How is Gary on this release. I always liked his style even though he was more of the "slo hand" of the band. Always thought Ricky Medlock was a kickass player. I love old Blackfoot.

Oh...yeah how could I forget.....Armored Saint just finished recording their new album and it is supposed to be out in October. That is a guaranteed preorder. Their last album 'WIn Hands Down' was killer.

Yeah that sucks. My car is a 2013 and has a CD player. I still buy CD's often and the car is the only place I really listen to them anymore. Looks like I am going to have to find a portable CD player and connect it to the USB somehow for my next car....either that or just stick the music on my phone through bluetooth. Several years ago, Apple stopped putting DVD/CD drives in their Mac Books. My 2011 Mac Book Pro is still going strong fortunately.....but I will have to say I rarely put a CD or DVD in it anymore.....unlike my car.

I have been looking forward to that new live Helloween album but still have not gotten it yet. I need to pick that one up soon. I have heard and seen a bunch of stuff from that and other shows from that tour. The band with Kiske and Hansen sound great.
Looking forward to the new Testament album. The last one was decent but not as good as 'Dark Roots Of The Earth'. I hope Skolnik has more input.
Tommy Skeoch formerly of Tesla has a new project to be released soon. He was always my favorite member of the band. Loved his guitar playing.
New Last In Line album. The latest one was a little on the boring side but Vivian is playing his ass off again.
Hoping the reformed original lineup of the Bulletboys put something out this year. Their first two albums were great.
The latest Sepultura album 'Quadra' I am really interested in. Always liked them and I am a big fan of Andreas Kisser as a guitarist
King Diamond-The Institute.....I don't have many of the later KD albums. Mainly 'Abigail' through 'The Eye' and then 'The Graveyard', 'Voodoo' and 'Abigail 2'....very interested in a new album.
also rumor has it that Iron Maiden already secretly recorded a new album....my favorite band so obviously I am interested. Also a new Mastodon record would be cool.

I am not a fan of either team.....but in true fashion of how the NFL season went for me this year.....nothing went my way down to the last game. I was pulling for the 49ers in this game...mainly because I am a Raiders fan and can not pull for a division rival.....but also because I hate Travis Kelce with a passion. Big knucklehead. He's good....but fuck him anyway. Hate his whole demeanor and celebration dances. I hate that he caught a TD in that game to......but anyway......hope next year we get a better season....

One of the most disturbing films I have ever seen was the movie 'Antichrist' starring Willem Dafoe. It was interesting and worth seeing but I would never watch it again.

I really thought going into that game that the 49ers had the edge....Much better defense and not far behind in offense. I think Kyle Shanahan blew that game. He should have been running the shit out of the ball. Garapollo also kept standing in the pocket and caused him to make poor throws, many of which got batted down and at one crucial moment caused an interception. Emmanuel Moseley, the cornerback for the 49ers couldn't cover Wilfred Brimley if he had to let alone Hill or Watkins. Regardless, the Niners had that game won in the middle of the 4th qtr by being up 20-10.....but due to poor play on both sides of the ball and poor coaching they let is slip away against and offense that was built to come back. Interesting game though....

This was a huge blow. I attended NAMM this year and expected to see a bunch of tributes to him in the drum section. I didn't see anything.....but I believe the announcement of his death was less than 2 weeks before the convention. So probably not enough time. Anyway....arguably the greatest rock drummer of all time and amazing lyricist. His body of work is just amazing. Sorry I am late to this post but I just moved and went to California at the middle of January so I have not been online much. RIP Mr. Peart....

That's pretty much how I feel about all the Andi Deris Helloween stuff I have heard. The only album I have owned was 'The Dark Ride'....which was ok....but again nothing stuck with me. My problem with the Deris era is it sounds too modern Euro Power Metal for me. Too symphonic and too much keyboards. I want to like it but it does very little for me. The four piece pre Kiske era was great because it was 80's German thrash....and the Kiske era ruled because there was still an element of German thrash mixed with a heavy Iron Maiden influence. I realize things started to change after 'Keeper Part II' but I still think all the Kiske albums have memorable songs. I am actually very interested in purchasing the new Helloween Live album with Hansen and Kiske back. I watched the concerts on youtube and it is a lot of fun and great seeing them back in the band.

No real surprises there. I skimmed through the list. I think one of the most telling things for me on that list is the Van Halen plays. Every song but one was from the Roth era. Shows that the Roth era stood the test of time much better. I am not a fan of the Hagar era and don't really consider it Van Halen......but I always loved how people who loved the Hagar era would say...."...they sold more albums and had more hits with Sammy..".....which actually is not true. The Roth era has outsold the Hagar era significantly. Both eras were successful of coarse.....but the Hagar era just had more mainstream songs that really did not hold up well.

Some more: "Sweet Caroline"-Neil Diamond. Call me crazy, but I actually liked this song very much at one time...… BUT, bar bands in my area pretty much all play this tune and, it's just not THAT good. Any enjoyment I used to get at one time, I'm pretty much done with now. "Daughter"/ "Jeremy"- Pearl Jam. Not a big Pearl Jam fan to begin with. Hated all of their songs back in the day, however I HAVE come around on a few of them. Not these two. And now that they are getting some serious airplay on my local Classic Rock radio station, I am totally done with them. "These Dreams"-Heart. It is a good song, but it is SOOOOOO dated. Keeps getting airplay and I'm not sure what the appeal of it still is in 2019 "Livin' On A Prayer"-Bon Jovi. I went from hating this song, to learning to appreciate it, to actually liking it quite a lot, to being kinda bored with it, to being done with it. Proving that one CAN play a song enough times to get someone to like it, but can also play it enough times to get them to hate it again. "You're My Best Friend"-Queen. Not that great of a song to begin with, not overly representative of Queen's music at all, yet it hogs up their airplay allotment when they have so many better songs that should get radio play. Never need to hear this again. "Some Kind Of Wonderful"-Grand Funk Railroad. Overplayed on both radio and by local bar bands. Not really a bad song, but I'm SOOO done with this one. I agree on all of those. "Life In The Fast Lane", All the popular Chicago songs.....but really anything by that stupid band. Game show themes.... At work there are satellite channels playing 3 or 4 streaming channels.......I notice that the shopping complex might have some of the same channels with the same rotating songs.....one of the songs I am so done with that is in rotation is that Cardigans song "Lovefool".....I never liked that song when it came out.....but I really want to punch someone every time I hear it.....

Freebird, Sweet Home Alabama, Gimmie Three Steps by Skynryd I surely am done with as well as Stairway, Rock N Roll, and Black Dog by Zeppelin.
I would say Sweet Child O' Mine but I actually can listen to that song if playing that whole album. Some songs I am tired of I can still listen to within the context of their respective albums. You Shook Me All Night Long comes close but I would say I am done with that song.

Pat Benatar, Doobie Brothers, Thin Lizzy and Styx should all be in and should have already been there. Thin Lizzy were highly influential and were big in Europe and still made their mark in the US. Pat and Neil should both be in. Super popular in the late 70's through the mid 80's and had great songs. Doobies just had too many classic songs to not be in....same with Styx.
Motorhead I think should get in....and the argument could be made that they should have also been there already....very influential on Heavy Metal, punk and hard rock.
Soundgarden should get in...maybe a little too soon but there are so many acts that have gotten in that do not deserve it....and less influential bands that should eventually get in have already gotten there.....I am using the word influential way too much...
NIN....same as Soundgarden
Todd Rungren should be in....not only as an artist but as a producer....maybe more so as a producer.
No Hip Hop or R&B should be in the HOF....except any R&B that was deemed as a direct influence on Rock N Roll....such as some Motown and Phil Spectre associated acts
MC5 were cool and they made their presence but it was basically the one live album.....and really the one song......and it was a little overrated....so I am going to go with a no on them
T-Rex was iconic.....only really a couple songs but that one album is also viewed as fairly iconic and a lot of artists have covered a few of Bolan's songs.....I am on the fence about that....but do not have a problem with it.
Depeche Mode.....yes....not a huge fan but they had some good and classic 80's songs and at one point in the 90's were pretty big.
Kraftwerk....no...it's not rock n roll...
