I had both albums...the first one was good, but not great. 'Dropped' the second album was fuckin awesome. Great band that should have done more. 'Dropped' featured guitarist Jason Everman who did stints with Nrivana on guitar and Soundgarden on bass. That might explain the more Seattle sound. Still a heavier and darker record than the first with plenty of great leadwork from Everman and Louis Svitek(M.O.D./Ministry).

I agree. It goes hand in hand with how deeply rooted in Capitalism we are. The whole lobbying system is highly unethical and it all has to do with who can make the most campaign contributions.

What you are talking about is making conscious choices, which is a little different. Having earrings and tattoos is a choice. It is not a natural part of ones being depending on how you look at it. Most homosexuals I have met have told me "....I did not choose to be this way, it is just who I am". I think if a gay man goes around wearing a dress...that is a conscious decision and yes there are consequences, but if a gay man is naturally effeminate and gay acting I think in most cases that is just part of who he is. Because of that I don't feel he should have to change and act in a way he does not feel comfortable in everyday life. You have to remember that it is 2006....not 1986....or even 1966. We should be way beyond all that shit now.

Well like I said in my original post I don't think it is as bad now as it was in the past....but the whole thought process of 'shut up and don't act gay and you will be treated like everyone else' is pretty dumb. I don't think the gay coummunity as a whole(this is just my opinion) would appreciate the idea that they have to "assimilate"(I don't think they would appreciate that word either) just to be treated fair. You have to understand that alot of gay people do identify themselves as being different. You can't expect someone to act in a way that is not natural to them. Some gays are straight acting, some are not. Who are we to tell them to act in a certain way. As long as they are not breaking any laws they should be able to act how they want. That is part of the American way if I remember correctly.

Well for one I am not gay. And second intolerence is intolerence. You can calll me a dumbass all you want.....doesn't change the fact that there have been alot of hate crimes against gay people who are not out "wearing speedos and dresses". You know that right? Alot of issues that the gay community are facing are equal rights and if you really think they are treated equal you have your head in the sand. Pretending to fit in and assimilate is not going to change that. In fact I find that ideology beyond ridiculous. I am sure all of those gay couples you know, even though they are not out waving banners still hope for change.
Ok I am going to call bullshit on that one. I think if you really believe that you have no idea what is going on. No offense man but come on.....

No you would probablbly get a few laughs or people would think you are an idiot....but not hated like homosexuals. Homosexuals are treated like criminals by alot of people in this country. We have become more tolerant is the last 15 or so years, but there is a high percentage of the population that view it as wrong. Don't think for a minute that gays can just assimilate by shutting up and not saying anything. Do you think African Americans could have just assimilated back in the 50's and 60's if they just shut up and took it and hoped everything would blow over? There really is no difference because it is intolerance and Rob is right in saying that America still has a long way to go. That's my take on it anyway.....

For me it was a toss up between "Cross-Eyed Mary" & "Locomotive Breath" (although there is a lotta great tunes in the poll) in the end I went with "Locomotive Breath" I was in the same boat....could have gone either way....but went with "Cross Eyed Mary" Iron Maiden did a killer cover of that back in the early 80's and it made me like the song even more.

Most of those songs were recorded 6 or 7 years ago. I know that I heard the Malmsteen/Sheehan/Pinnick version of "Light Up The Sky" back in 2000.....it smokes...Yngiwe actually plays like Eddie on that song.

Yeah I guess it is just a what if kind of thing....but I think even though alot of the people on this forum don't like the Rockstar show for whatever reason. I think that it is still an interesting idea for a show and the fact that the band themselves are the judges is a good idea. The only thing I think that is wrong with the Supernova show is the talent pool. There are only about 2 or 3 singers on that show that I think could sing for that band....the rest were a waste.

Well it's obvious that you have put some thought into this, and although I think your ideas are interesting the fact that the members of Queen are not the judges and don't have a say so until the end of the show I think is a little ill-concieved. By putting the band out of the loop as far as input goes is not really in the best interest of the band. So ultimately I don't think it would work.
One judge based on your format that comes to mind would be Tony Iommi. He has played on stage with Queen before and is a good friend and fan of the band.
Robert Plant would probably be another good choice.

Forgot about UFO....I think I would have to include "This Kid's " from 'Stranger's In The Night'....has one of my all time favorite Schenker solos on that live version.
Also would add 'Polar Nights' from Scorpions 'Tokyo Tapes'

apparently Elton was not aware of the 80's and what was going on musically here in America during that time. Sorry Elton we've been there....done that....
and you know what when Elton decides to write a good song, instead of the elevator muzak he has been playing for the last 20 years, then he can talk to us about trends in music and wha is cool and what isn't....until then go comb your fucking wig collection......

I like alot of the JLT stuff. Graham Bonnet I liked with MSG and Alcatrazz, but Rainbow put out their wekest album with him...
Ronnie Dio by far....I think it is the best stuff Dio ever did.

Signal Henry Paul Band Doyle Bramhall and Smokestack Lightning Metallium Artension Richrath Messiah Prophet The Regulators Tattoo Rodeo Metallium has a great singer. They were on the first Accept tribute and that guy killed the song "Burning". Probably the best vocal performance on that album. I would like to at least check out their first album which had Chris Caffery on guitar. One band that I love that not many people know about is Firebird. Features Bill Steer of Carcass fame on guitar and vocals only this stuff is blues based hard rock. Think Humble Pies meets Badlands meets Cream.
