I thought it might be fun to get people's remarks & opinions on some bands that we don't post about often. Some of these bands will be much more obscure than other ones posted on here, but in general are definitely on the rare side of things due to either being forgotten or never really had a huge audience in the first place. I'll go through each band alphabetically.
The band: Mind Funk
Mind Funk was another band to come out of the early 90's. Originally they called themselves Mind F##k, but their record company thought the name some what inappropriate, so they changed to a more user friendly name, Mind Funk.
Mind Funk put out two albums "ST" & "Dropped." Both albums were very solid & sometimes downright inspirational. Mind Funk sound was heavy grunge (Soundgarden & Alice in Chains) especially on "Dropped," but on "Mind Funk," their most diverse effort, they sounded like a multitude of artist from the Cult to Ozzy to the Rollins Band to Van Halen to Jane's Addiction! A real hodgepodge, but dam-nit, it worked!
Mind Funk was another potentially great band lost in that fertile period the turn of the 80's into the 90's.
Your thoughts?

I loved their debut, like you said a very eclectic, all-over-the-map style and some truly memorable songs, "Big House Burning", "Sister Blue", "Blood Runs Ride" etc. If you've never heard it, scour the used stores and pick up a copy.

I had both albums...the first one was good, but not great. 'Dropped' the second album was fuckin awesome. Great band that should have done more. 'Dropped' featured guitarist Jason Everman who did stints with Nrivana on guitar and Soundgarden on bass. That might explain the more Seattle sound. Still a heavier and darker record than the first with plenty of great leadwork from Everman and Louis Svitek(M.O.D./Ministry).
