I honestly thought, years & years ago, that the "Van Hagar" version of Van Halen would be forever!

I know some of you are gonna rip me on this, but I chose "Other" as I have Paul Stanley & Ace Frehley on the brain this week. Thinking about riffs to songs like "Deuce", Firehouse", "Cold Gin", "Watchin' You", "Strutter", "Got To Choose", "She", "Love Her All I Can', "Mr. Speed", "Detroit Rock City", "Take Me", "Rocket Ride", "Shock Me", "Tonight You Belong To Me", etc, etc, etc has got me thinking that KISS is once again underlooked. under estimated and under appreciated for their contributions to the history of rock & roll.

*I think it depends on who Led Zeppelin's hypothetical new singer would be. *
I saw KISS last year to a near capacity crowd of about 18,000 during the biggest Christmas shopping time of the season.

Okay....this is gonna seem corny and cheesey and all that....but I have always thought, just for fun, that KISS should do a cover of the Happy Days theme song!
I swear I can hear it in my head right now! ;D

(from Melodicrock.com)
SAMMY HAGAR BIOGRAPHY 8 WEEKS AWAY: Sammy Hagar—legendary lead singer of Van Halen, founder of the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand, and one of rock music's most notoriously successful performers—tells his unforgettable story in this one-of-a-kind autobiography of a life at the top of the charts. From his decade-long journey alongside Eddie Van Halen to his raucous solo career with Chickenfoot and everything in between—the drugs, groupies, and excesses of fame, the outrageous stadium tours, and the thrill of musical innovation—Hagar reveals all in this treasure trove of rock-and-roll war stories. Red is a life-changing look at one of music's biggest talents—an essential read for music fans and anyone dreaming of becoming rock's next number one star. Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock is available for pre-order at various locations now on Hardback, E-Book and Audio Book. Hardcover, 256 pages. Size is 9" x 6" x 1." This title will be released on March 15, 2011.

Most of us probably already know about KISS, Journey, Foriegner and Twisted Sister releasing re-recorded versions of songs. There are also examples of other isolated songs re-recorded by the original artists, such as Night Ranger's "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", Styx's "Lady '95" and Heart's "How Deep It Goes. I am interested in finding more of these. Does anyone know of any more songs re-recorded by the original artists???

Now that the RRHOF did something right by adding Alice Cooper, does this clear the path for KISS to get in???
