We most likely hashed this over in the past, but put more succinctly, which era of ZZ Top is your favourite...that is you're even a fan of the bearded trio.
Do songs like Francine, Just Got Paid, and Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers beat out Legs, Sharped Dressed Man and Planet of Women?
For what it's worth, I like em both.
Strange in that for the most part, a person is typically partial to one or the other.
What's your take?
Thanks Kim

Hands down they do. I never really "got" ZZ Top until I picked up "Rio Grande Mud" on cassette in a discount bargain bin. Now they are among my favorites, but only because of their catalog up til 1981.

I strongly prefer the older vintage ZZ Top.....pre-Eliminator.

I didn't Mind Eliminator but I hated Afterburner so I'll go with the old stuff hands down ...My favorite ZZ Top album is Deguello

The early stuff is my favorite hands down, but to be honest, a few of the newer albums have been damn good as well, XXX, Rhythmeen and Mescalero have been kick ass.

ZZ Top is a HUGE band......just knowing where they come from (the Moving Sidewalks in the '60s is enuff!!!!!), but their attempt at "funkisizing" their sound went all wimpy.....sorry!! I dig the old Top better

I like their earlier stuff in general much more but my favorite song by the biggest little band from Texas is 'My Heads In Mississippi'' from Recycler.

ZZ Top's worst crap is better than most bands best try.
I like all the eras.

Admittedly, I like all incarnations...
They're a terrific variety of great guitar driven rock'n roll.

I do like pretty much like all of their stuff, but The old Bluesy Top is by far the best.
