"I Know What I Want" by Cheap Trick features Tom Peterson on lead vocals. This song was a staple & a highlight of many Cheap Trick concerts back in the day....I don't kinow if it still is....
Glenn Hughes sings half the vocals on Deep Purple's "Sail Way".
Tomothy B. Schmidt (sp?) who rarely sings lead with the Eagles, sang "I Can't Tell You Why" and Randy Meisner sang "Take It To The Limit".
Although Frehley's Comet's singles were sung by Ace Frehley, their hit single "It's Over Now" was sung by Tod Howarth.

I know you did not want to include KISS, but I would have to say that because Peter Criss only sang about 1/8th of their tunes in the 70s, "Beth" should be included.

For what it's worth, I am 40 and it seems like the only new music I get excited about come from bands like KISS, Ace Frehley, Heart, Foreigner, Heaven & Hell, Journey, etc, etc...

Sadly, Peter Criss' solo band Criss re-did "Beth" in 1994.....made me wanna throw up! Peter Criss should be embarrassed....

Simply put: That was then, this is now. I am now 40 years old and no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to recreate ANYTHING as it was when I was 20. It is what it is: For the record, I enjoy the latest albums from bands like KISS, Ted Nugent, Heart, Ratt, Ace Frehley, etc, etc, etc.... When I was 20, I never thought any of my favorite bands would still be around when I would be 40. Life is too short. None of us or our favorite bands are getting any younger and I am pleased that so many of them are still around! Besides, if anyone is waiting for a 61 year old Gene Simmons to recreate "Christine Sixteen"....well, that would be creepy
