About their favorite bands new music?
For example I find alot of times to be the only one interested in a new album by a band from the 70's or 80's. I went out and bought the new Foreigner album last year and the new Kiss album. A friend of mine who is a fan of both those bands laughed at me when I told him I was going to go buy their new albums.
I would go around and tell other people as well about these albums and they looked at me like I was nuts, or that they had no interest in them at all. I've bought people new albums by the classic bands they love and they haven't even taken them out of the plastic yet. I bought these albums last Christmas for them! Sorry, it just drives me crazy!
I don't really get it. I love music. I guess most people that are in their 40's and 50's lost interest in music a whole heck of alot once they got older.

I understand what you're saying. I'm first in line (or online) to get new Rush or Porcupine Tree, and can't wait for that uninterrupted first listen at maximum volume.

I'm like Progrocks & can't wait to get my hands on my favorite old bands new albums. I'm amazed at the people I know who see these old bands live who bitch because they play something off their newest album. All they wanna hear is the hits. Boring

For what it's worth, I am 40 and it seems like the only new music I get excited about come from bands like KISS, Ace Frehley, Heart, Foreigner, Heaven & Hell, Journey, etc, etc...

It gets tougher to care about music as we get older, have wives, kids, car payments, mortgage payments and jobs to pay for it all. The path of least resistance is to just listen to whatever is on the radio or CDs of stuff you already know you like. This is something I struggle with anymore, but at least I am aware of it and try my darnedest to keep looking for my next favorite band or CD, or song. A lot of people don't even realize that they've shut off their minds to new music.

I'm still buying all sorts of new music, because these days if you like a vocalist chances are he's in a band or two and might do a solo album and might lend his talents to another core band. That's just the way it is today, because record companies dont offer decent contracts anymore, so if you sing or play chances are your doing it with more than one band.
