Most of us probably already know about KISS, Journey, Foriegner and Twisted Sister releasing re-recorded versions of songs. There are also examples of other isolated songs re-recorded by the original artists, such as Night Ranger's "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", Styx's "Lady '95" and Heart's "How Deep It Goes. I am interested in finding more of these. Does anyone know of any more songs re-recorded by the original artists???

Styx rerecorded "Blue Collar Man" calling it "Blue Collar Man @ 2120" on their 2005 album Big Bang Theory. And then there's this by Molly Hatchet..

I know Saxon re-recorded a bunch of their older stuff also Status Quo did a mauling of their 'Forty Five Hundred Times' for a b-side, plus didn't Guns N' Roses (well Axl) re-record 'Appetite For Destruction'?

Every once in a while Charlie Daniels takes one of his great songs from the 70's and totally destroys it by re-recording it for his latest album.
Lynyrd Skynyrd did a horrible remake of one of my favorite tunes "Gimmie Back My Bullets" that wound up being the only turd on their otherwise top-notch "Vicious Cycle" album.

Neil Young’s horrid “Mr. Soul” from Trans There’s the Moment of Glory CD by the Scorpions (you hear “Hurricane 2000” a lot of sporting events) The Police re-recorded “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” in 1986 for a greatest hits package. The Black Crowes re-recorded a bunch of their old songs on 2010’s Croweology. Blue Oysrer Cult re-recorded “Astronomy” for 1988’s Imaginos. In 1986 Chicago redid “25 or 6 to 4” for Chicago 18. Deep Purple redid “Hush” on 1988’s Nobody’s Perfect. Mike Ness has a very cool Honky Tonk version of Social Distortion’s “Ball and Chain” on his solo CD, Under the Influences. Monster Magnet re-recoded their 1992 song, “Medicine” for their 2001 CD, God Says No. My favorite CD by Oingo Boingo is “Boingo Alive,” which is live-in-the-studio re-recordings of 31 of their songs.
