Eagle Releases Acoustic Magnificence THE WISHING TREE: OSTARA CD ~New Studio Album Released January 19, 2010~ New York, NY (November 12, 2009)—It has been ten years since progressive rock band The Wishing Tree released their debut album, Carnival of Souls. On January 19, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release their lush and evocative new album Ostara [MSRP $13.98] Marillion guitarist Steve Rothery founded The Wishing Tree. Formed in 1996, Rothery’s desire to start an acoustic music project with a female vocalist led him to British singer Hannah Stobart. The two started writing together, crafting a wistful, gorgeous sound that is both haunting and soothing. This new CD, produced and engineered by Rothery, not only boasts eight original songs, but two bonus live tracks, “Fly” and “Ostara”. Unique in its conception, Ostara was written and recorded on opposite sides of the world, with Stobert working from her home in California and Rothery in his home studio in Buckinghamshire, England. Joined by drummer Paul Craddick (of Enchant, and Hannah’s husband), Ostara is the perfect marriage of Stobart’s angelic, lilting vocals and Rothery’s superb guitar work. A master at his craft, his harmonies are understated when necessary, allowing Stobart’s vocals to take precedence, yet when given the chance, his trademark solos truly sing out in the mix of this enchanting blend. The delicate, ghostly harmonies, executed on mandolin as well as guitar, paired with Stobart’s soaring melodies, result in artwork that is truly a listening experience. Fans of Steve Rothery will also enjoy Marillion’s latest CD Less Is More, released December 8 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. Track Listing: 1.) Ostara 2.) Easy 3.) Hollow Hills 4.) Seventh Sigh 5.) Falling 6.) Fly 7.) Kingfisher 8.) Soldier Bonus Tracks: 1.) Fly (live) 2.) Ostara (live) Eagle Rock Entertainment is an international media production and distribution company operating across audiovisual entertainment programming. This update on Bruce Kulick too! November 19, 2009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BRUCE KULICK SET TO RELEASE BK3 FEBRUARY 16th via ROCKET SCIENCE VENTURES Guests to include members of KISS, The Knack, Motley Crue and more LOS ANGELES - If you ever play Six Degrees of Bruce Kulick, the former KISS/current Grand Funk Railroad guitarist’s résumé will keep you happily busy for hours. Having been tapped by artists as diverse as Meat Loaf and Kanye West, the veteran axeman’s boundless creative energy permeates his third solo LP, BK3. In the works for nearly six years and produced by Jeremy Rubolino, BK3 delivers explosive hard rock arrangements and addictive pop melodies that honor both Kulick’s singular past and bright future. And then there’s the jaw-dropping guest list, boasting members of KISS, the Knack, Toto, Mötley Crüe and more. “Bruce was to KISS what Ronnie Wood is to the Stones,” says Rocket Science GM & Fanboy Enterprises A&R executive Ken Gullic. “The new guy to one generation, and the long standing stable horse to another.” After getting his solo feet wet with 2001’s Audio Dog and 2003’s Transformer, Kulick—the often unheralded driving force on 12 years of classic KISS records, from 1984’s Animalize to 1992’s Revenge—assembled his own rock ‘n’ roll dream team. The roster: KISS icon Gene Simmons and up-and-coming son Nick (each vocally appearing separately), longtime friend John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Kulick’s own Union), Knack mainman Doug Fieger, Toto axe authoritarian Steve Lukather, Edguy power metal stalwart Tobias Sammet and even current KISS drummer Eric Singer. “Many albums lack cohesion with different vocalists, but I know that my guitar playing is the glue on BK3,” Kulick says. “There was the clear goal of making absolutely the best record that I could put together. I feel like this is my Revenge.” BK3 will be released February 16th on Twenty 4 Records /Rocket Science Ventures www.brucekulick.net

This from his own website: www.ronniejamesdio.com/Sad indeed, get well soon Ronnie. This seems pretty scary as I can't recall him ever cancelling dates before & have no previous knowledge of him ever been taken to hospital before, ever having been publicised. No details at all as to why either? DIO Tour Cancelled 11/18/2009 2:22:38 PM The European tour has been cancelled after Ronnie was taken ill. "Ronnie has been hospitalized and we are waiting for further news," explains Ronnie's wife/manager, Wendy Dio. No further information is available at this time, but we wish Ronnie a speedy and complete recovery.

LOL folks, I went with Heart Rules The Mind. I saw Max Bacon (Stupid bloody name!) with Bronz back in the day, years back, great vocalist. This song was killer on the GTR album. That's not to say I wasn't thinking about a few of the others. Roxette - The Look - We're covering that in our set list with Rhonda sharing the leads vocals. To be honest, sick of hearing it now! LOL! Cheers, Al

He's always had that kind of rough, gruff bluesy vocal driven pop / rock. I'm only saying pop / rock though, because he was always hard to really catagorise, really was. He got hugely popular with Road To Hell, but there's more to him than that. Hey Warpig - Yep, the Best of, you really can't go too far wrong with. Al

LOL Jesse ...! Don't know how much I'll be drawn on naming culprits ..., but my fav drummers are as follows - With the obvious one first! Cozy Powell (RIP) - All round top guy, he was the total entertainer as a drummer and great guy to talk to face to face. Often seen as mercenary in his actions, jumping all over the place, but always so passionate in all he did! I got to see him live with Rainbow, Whitesnake & M.S.G. Wish I'd seen him with Sabbath (Tony Iommi Band I should say!), but never did.
Brian Downey - With Thin Lizzy, great talent ..., yet due to many rock fans not buying into the Lizzy legend back in the day he was more often overlooked. Now jamming with his own low key project in Dublin, along with drum classes, when not doing the Gary Moore blues band 'thingy.' Always loved catching him with Lizzy.
Neil Peart - Simply because his talent is clearly immense and seriously on technical ability I still don't believe anyone can match him, although some come close.
Carl Palmer - His playing astonishes me put simply, as he plays holding the sticks military style & how anyone can do that AND play the kit the way he does, is something else!
Jeff Porcaro (RIP) - Another absolute talent, much missed who I was fortunate enough to see on Toto's Seventh One tour at Hammy O back in the day. Wish I'd got to see Toto more back then, but they rarely played the UK, like so many AOR / Hard rockin' bands.
Simon Phillips - Seriously was the only man for the Toto job in my mind & I've seen him play with them here 3 times. Excellent! Love so much of his session stuff too!
Kelly Keagy - A good friend, a great drummer who sing fantastic too! Great perosnality, a good guy in rock! Totally jams as singer vocalist in hard rockin' Night Ranger!OK ... That's my favorites ... That's all I'm saying for now, although - & this will piss people off! LOL! - Mike Portnoy for all his talent - Which I do recognise - is a complete dick! There I said it! The guy constantly spits out huge amounts of flemmy gob "at" his bandmates, onto the stage in front of his drum riser so anyone walking by could slip & break something and the that would screw up Dream Theater big time! What a bloody loser! If he likes to spit so damn much why not get yourself a bucket next to you! Al

Just saw this posted over at Pollstar ... Before anyone gets too excited though, looks like maybe Canadian dates only at this time ... Guns N’ Roses is expected to make a major announcement early Monday morning – and rumor has it that it may be a Canadian tour. This would be the band’s first time playing North America in nearly three years. More details here: www.pollstar.com/blogs/news/archive/2009/10/16/694212.aspxAl

Apparently Viv Campbells Dad just passed away ...
Poor bugger, I know how that goes ... I lost my Dad 8 years back (Stroke aged 86) and a brother 4 years back (Brain tumour aged 49) ....
Life deals harsh hands sometimes, even though we all have to go sometime. Always the toughest when it's immediate family.

Kim, Yeah, I was here ... That was a sore point! They were booked at St. Andrews Hall, Downtown Detroit and yeah, it was about $15 a ticket then ... I was in heaven when they booked the gig ..., then we drove down there only to find the Detroit gig was cancelled on the night ... Parfitt had a throat infection. Apparently they played Toronto about 2 nights after though ... I saw Quo around 10 times back in the UK, back in the day ... Saw the classic line up along with Coghlan & Lancaster about 6 or 7 of those .... Knowing that they never cracked the US market, I had to accept that I'd never get to see them live again - Unless we got home for one of the Christmas gigs they play every year ... Then I found out about the tour back in 2003 (or was it '04?) & couldn't wait to get tickets! It's unlikely they will venture back here since Mike Paxman told me after that last tour, that it really didn't do enough to make it worth them doing it again. I hope they prove him wrong! Yeah, Quo is such a great live show, every time ..., that I was really looking forward to it, for Rhonda to finally get to see them! Didn't happen! Ah well, I live in hope mate! Cheers, Al

I saw Styx last year, but it was around the time that JY's wife had just had an aneurysm, which really took it's toll on them last year ... Strange thing is, I've not heard anymore about her condition ...? Here's the other thing, Styx tour probably more dates than I think any other US name band I know! Their tour date listings, constantly look endless, always wonder how the hell they ever have time to record new albums?! I thought they were great, although Tommy looked pretty tired then, they really should try and take a break ... I don't think Styx fans would ever quit on them, so I don't undertsand why they don't? Lawrence Gowan I think is an excellent replacement - Funnily enough I was only aware of his solo work probably about a month or so before he was announced as DeYoung's replacement. I've seen Dennis DeYoung on 2 occasions over the last 4 years, both times backed by a full band and full orchestra. Both times Mr Roboto was played, very entertaining too! He still incredibly hit's those notes, but that's probably more to do with the fact that he does very few tour dates these days. I missed Styx this year, not through choice, but due to lack of cash. Hope to catch them next time. Al

It's seems that Def Leppard for some personal reasons have cancelled their latest, only recently (Little over a month ago ...) announced US tour dates.
This was the announcement posted at their website yesterday:
Third leg of 2009 tour cancelled
10/16/2009 3:21:56 PM | DEFLEPPARD.com
Due to unforeseen personal matters, the third leg of Def Leppard’s North American Tour, set to begin on October 22nd, has been cancelled. "We know how truly blessed we are to have such committed fans," said the band in a statement. "That's why we've agonized over this decision. Even if just a single concert, we don't take cancelling shows lightly, but unfortunately life’s commitments need to be the priority."
Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Eagle Rock Entertainment To Release STATUS QUO: PICTURES LIVE AT MONTREUX 2009 ~On DVD October 27, 2009~ New York, NY (October 15, 2009)—On October 27, Eagle Rock Entertainment will add another gem to its stunning Montreux collection when Status Quo’s Pictures: Live At Montreux 2009 is released on DVD. Status Quo’s album Pictures (released in November 2008) celebrated 40 years of the band filling the UK charts with hit after hit. Led as always by the twin telecasters of Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, they deliver a blistering set of hits and classic tracks from across their career including no less than 18 UK Top 20 hits. This Pictures tour set list has been hailed by many as the band’s best ever. Commemorating the 40-year celebration of the band, huge screens behind the stage illustrated high points from Quo’s career. Exclusive interviews filmed backstage at Montreux with the always entertaining Rossi and Parfitt are included as bonus features. Status Quo is one of Britain’s most cherished and influential bands. With this DVD coming hot on the heels of their new CD In Search Of The Fourth Chord (released stateside via Eagle Rock on September 15, 2009), Pictures: Live At Montreux is live and loud and serves as a timely reminder of what the Quo legacy is built on.
