I'm a music freak/geek & into just about every kind of music.I grew up with the hardrock/metal bands of the 70's such as Kiss,Aerosmith,Angel,Starz,Nugent,Sabbath,Priest,Cheap Trick, AC/DC, & BOC but by the 80's I was also into Johnny Thunders, NY Dolls,Ramones,Patti Smith,Lou Reed, Jim Caroll,Forgotten Rebels, Richard Hell & Teenage Head along with the 80's wave of Hair Metal & Death/Speed metal. I also am heavy into blues whether it's old acoustic or electric.I really get into Rock a billy stuff such as Robert Gordon(his 'Robert Gordon w/ Link Wray' & 'Fresh Fish Special' albums are highly recommended by me), Vince Taylor, & Eddie Cochran. Finally,I love Novelty Songs no matter how old. I was such a music geek & still am, always bought whatever music magazines were(are) out there especially Creem,Circus, Hit Parader,Goldmine,Rock,Rock Scene...Hell if Kiss was on the cover of 16 Magazine I was embarrassed but even bought those. I did have some good times drinking but never once touched any pot or other recreational substances(I've been up close & around everything & don't care if someone else does it in front of me but I always chose not to)
These are my Top 10 albums
1) Rolling Stones - 'Some Girls' 2) Kiss - 'Rock & Roll Over' 3) Alice Cooper - 'Killer' 4) Johnny Thunders - So Alone 5) NY Dolls - 'NY Dolls' 6) Alice Cooper - 'Billion Dollar Babies' 7) Kiss - 'Kiss' 8) Sensational Alex Harvey Band - 'Framed' 9) Max Webster - 'Mutiny Up My Sleeve' 10) Badfinger - 'No Dice' Top 10 songs
1) "No Matter What" - Badfinger 2) "The Kids are Alright" - the Who 3) "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" - Johnny Thunders 4) "Johnny B Goode" - Chuck Berry 5) "Star Star" - The Rolling Stones 6) "Nothing to Lose" - Kiss 7) "Personality Crisis" - NY Dolls 8) "Never Been Sold Before" - Alice Cooper 9) "The Party" - Max Webster 10) "Satellite of Love"(Live from 'Take No Prisoners') - Lou Reed

I'm Al & as most of the folks here know, I can go on a bit ..., right gang?! LOL! I grew up in the 70's - In the UK - listening to ELO, Status Quo, UFO, Slade, Sweet, The Faces, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow & many more ... In the late 70's though, discovered more American / Canadian bands that filtered into 80's stuff, Boston, Triumph, Toto, Rush, Journey, Honeymoon Suite, Y & T, Pat Travers, Styx, April Wine, Night Ranger, Shooting Star, 38 Special & loads more .... After the 80's & coming right up to date, newer bands I like are Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, 3 Doors Down, Silvertide, Collective Soul, House Of Lords, Nickelback, Joe Bonamassa, Angels & Airwaves & other suff here & there too ... I've played drums for years & yodel, nah, I mean sing really from time to time, in a covers band ... I also, from time to time have reviewed gigs, CD's, DVD's, done interviews with folks & stuff for various sites, but still come back here - When time allows! - to hang with these fine folks here! 10 - as always - is too few guys .... These are 10 fav's that I never, ever get tired of throwing in the old CD player ... &, "cruisin' down the motorway, got my girl by my side ....!" Yeah & the missus rocks too, she jams some serious Jon Lord type keyboards in the band, she totally rocks! Seriously lucky to have a wife that loves to rock 'n' roll as much as me .... Hell! I should've moved here 20 years ago! LOL! UFO - Strangers ... Thin Lizzy - Live & Dangerous MSG - Budokan (Only because it captures great moments of the first 2 albums.) Rainbow - Long Live Rock n Roll Van Halen - Same Damn Yankees - Same Def Leppard - High 'n' Dry Honeymoon Suite - The Big Prize Night Ranger - Rock In Japan Live Quo - Rockin' All Over The Years Al

You actually say it as it needs to be said, and your reviews and posts on all things music are second to none! One thing I must say is that I am reeeeally glad that you didn't take my comment as "Criticism" one time waaaaaaay back when... as I requested that your posts be separated "just a wee bit" as paragraphs... It made the world of difference, at least for me... as it was so much easier to read and digest with the thoughts being separated and focused on as entitys in their own right. I can't thank you enough for that my friend, as it makes for a much more professional and worth while read! Trust me...you are "the man" when it comes to anything that you have to offer here in regards to reviews and otherwise, new and unheard of information regarding music...along with Bucky and Rik of course...actually anyone that posts info on groups, artists and music alike, really do know their stuff and is reason why I am really glad that we still have this forum going! Keep up the good work all! Thanks Kim

I am a funkin canuck who doesn't take anything seriously! I came of age in the 80's so my heart belongs to glam, sleaze and thrash, but I love ALL music! I've been an avid listener when my dad purchased me and my sisters Juke Box Jive at the age of five! Heh. I even took the record to Kindergarten for show and tell and everyone dug it. I've been quite fortunate that my father encouraged us to give music an appreciative, open-minded listen from the get-go. Then again he was a musician himself who led his own band, before hanging it up after his lil rug rats came along. Mind you when the folks hosted parties, everyone brought over their guitars! I have no clue how I managed to fall off to sleep while dad and his buddies played CCR. Maybe this is why I can doze off with music blaring? Anyhoo, my top ten albums always change. This week I'm loving the following: L.A. Guns: c*cked and Loaded Black Label Society: Sonic Brew L.A. Guns: S/T Colin James: Then Again Seduce: Too Much Ain't Enough Cheap Trick: Special One Megadeth: The World Needs a Hero Savatage: Hall of the Mountain King Bee Gees: Greatest Hits Abba: Greatest Hits I overlooked Abba in the past and am currently enjoying this band.
