Hey guys, I know it's been a while ... Just checking things out over here ... You all doing good? Funny this reunion ... A buddy of mine called me today and said, we've got to go to the reunion gig when it hits Detroit and all get tix in the front row and wear Dio shirts! He said, 'Do you think Ozzy will get the message?' Yeah, my buds a little sick sometimes, but you know, I'd actually get a kick out of that! LOL! Dio rules for me ... I loved the Dio fronted Sabs, really did. Miss you RJD. Keep on rockin' Cozy Al - Yeah the guy who does Chambers of Rock

Ouch Kim! Sound's like I hit a raw nerve with you on R.B.!! I had a mate back home in the UK, that was a huge fan of B.T.O. and I never really got into their stuff until later on, although I used to but a few of their old singles back in the day ... Shotgun Rider was a non event in the charts, but I actually really liked it. Of course there were a bunch of other tracks too that I think are great and yes, Fred deserves way more praise than he ever got ... Cheers mate, hope all else is good with you?

I guess when you look inside album artwork - Those that like me still buy / get CDs - interesting to see just how many hard rockers give special thanks to God ... Do you think they are just doing it to cover all bases or that they are genuine? I've got to believe it's genuine, I mean why else would you do it ...?
3 Doors Down do it all the time and are a great band! I listen to some Christian music sometimes, not all hard rock either ... I have to say there's a player who's music I didn't give time of day to, due to his name, but have since listened and think it's pretty good stuff. - Jeremy Camp.
Petra - Yeah, pretty sad that their albums productions are so lame / dated, yet the songs had so much potential. They even had Head East man John Schlitt, for a while ... Now Head East were a great band and Never Been Any Reason is killer!
Mark Shultz actually writes some great songs, Chris Tomlin too, are they all rockin', no, but they're still good. Always a matter of opinion though, huh?!

Randy Bachman doing Thin Lizzy's Boys Are Back In Town. Really terrible ... I have a tribute 2 CD set to Phil and Lizzy and when I saw Randy Bachman was covering it, I thought it should be great. Total kills it.

Pretty close to what Trexx says for me: Michael Schenker - When he's got his shit together ... Pat Travers is another too ... Steve Lukather (Toto) Lawrence Archer (Stampede, UFO, Grand Slam) Vinny Burns (Dare, Asia, Bob Catley, FM, Ten - I can't stand Ten for Gary Hughes vocals though.) Jeff Watson (Night Ranger, Mothers Army) Van McLain (Shooting Star) I could go on, couldn't we all!

I hear ya all on these ticket prices .... I've been lucky to sometimes get review tickets, but these days they're harder and harder to get, since I don't write for a) a major site or b) a major or local newspaper or magazine. With both of us having been through lay off patches and just picking up unemployment for some stretches over the last 3 years, we've only got to about 10% a year of what what we used to go to. Rhonda and I used to catch about 30 or 40 shows every summer or more before kids and mortgage. It was serious party time back in 2001 - 2004 ... Since then for us, with kids and mortgage and lay offs, it all takes a back seat. I go along with Rikki, buy the live DVD and remember when you saw many of these great bands in their prime, right? I ain't getting screwed on some of these ticket prices. The recession may be moving on for some people, but still here for many ..., but ticket prices still go up and up! What the .....!!! Just have pick and choose the gigs a little more carefully. Sucks, I know! Al

Well I remember Sandi and Sandi was cool but I also know that I've been on and off the site here for long stretches ... - Sorry dudes and dudettes! - and don't recall 'Pooldude' must've been before my time ... Either that or he came, saw - Contributed - and crashed and burned during one of my stretches away gang?! As for Jeb ... Well, Kim, you probably know my thoughts there ...! After writing reviews and stuff for 5 years on the Classic rock section of About dot com - Rikki, trying to avoid mentioning / adding other sites links dude! - and trying to encourage Dave there to cover some of the hard rock ground, that Chad who runs the metal bit, didn't cover ... I was looking for a new reviewing gig that actually happened to fall to CRR ... Jeb seemed OK initially, but I soon realized he was too full of himself, after live reviews for him I offered to help out here ... My thoughts on Jeb are best left in the dumpster!!! Rikki - You were great man, offered me the gig and to work with getting the reviews to Sandi, but then Sandi seemed to disappear ...? Then you closed the site Rikki and left it as the forum .... I still covered some stuff here through the forum ..., with PR people that stuck with me. This site is still a cool place and I wish I had more time, but now my site is burying me with loads of stuff to cover, which is cool, but totally swamping me. Rikki - I can see why you dropped the site dude, it's a lot of damn work! Keep on rockin' gang! I will drop in when I can, as you're totally rockin' and you all know your shit! Cool, cool reading here! Later, Al

Yes, it's true, it's really happening and I for one am well pleased with the line up although I still think they could've got Limehouse Lizzy's - www.limehouselizzy.co.uk/index.php - lead vocalist Wayne Ellis on bass and vox. Ah well, now all we need are some US dates! Al Thin Lizzy is one of rock music’s most recognizable names. The fiery Dublin band exploded onto the scene with a fresh sound, look and attitude. Led by the incomparable Phil Lynott, the band reached many peaks and influenced generations of musicians with classic tracks such as “Jailbreak”, “The Boys Are Back In Town”, “Still In Love With You”, “Cold Sweat”, “Emerald” and “Don’t Believe A Word”. Most rock historians would agree the pinnacle of their commercial success was in 1983, followed by the bands’ premature demise, as they played their last gig in September of 1984. Just two years later, the world was shocked when singer/bassist and founding member Phil Lynott passed away at the age of thirty six. Twenty four years have passed, the world has changed, but the amazing body of work that is Thin Lizzy still retains all of its vibrancy and influence. A new lineup has formed to take Lizzy’s music to a whole new generation of music fans. Led by alumni Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton (all of whom played in Thin Lizzy with Phil Lynott) the stellar lineup is completed by Def Leppards Viv Campbell (guitar), Bassist Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Soul SirkUS) and The Almighty’s Ricky Warwick on vocals and guitar. Alongside the new lineup, Universal Music has committed to a series of re-issue, deluxe and special releases of classic Thin Lizzy material over the next 18 months. More details to follow. Thin Lizzy have confirmed a 2011 UK tour. Full dates are as follows: Thursday 6th January – Aberdeen Music Hall Friday 7th – Glasgow O2 Academy Saturday 8th – Newcastle City Hall Monday 10th – Leeds O2 Academy Tuesday 11th – Llandudno Theatre Wednesday 12th – Leicester De Montfort Hall Friday 14th – Wolverhampton Civic Hall Saturday 15th – Manchester Apollo Sunday 16th – Bristol Colston Hall Tuesday 18th – Southampton Guildhall Wednesday 19th – Ipswich Regent Friday 21st – Cambridge Corn Exchange Saturday 22nd – Hammersmith, London, HMV Apollo Doors will be at 7pm. On the UK dates Special Guests will be Seattle based Supersuckers. In addition to the UK, Thin Lizzy’s new line up will play Dublin on January 4th 2011. This special show will mark the 25th anniversary of Phil Lynott’s passing and the event will feature many additional guest stars and performers. Venue details are set to follow.

Toronto – Thursday, April 8th 2010) - Rush – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart – is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting.
Announced today, The Time Machine Tour is an evening with Rush, where they will perform their classics, give a taste of the future – and for the first time ever – feature the Moving Pictures album live in its entirety.
The band is currently working on their 20th studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (co-producer from 2007’s Snakes & Arrows) and in addition to their classics plan to showcase a few new tunes live this summer.
“We were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring. Everything is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day. We've got these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something – and I say perhaps – and then we plan on being on the road,” says guitarist, Alex Lifeson.
This summer’s Live Nation promoted tour will visit approximately 40 cities throughout North America beginning June 29th in Albuquerque, NM and finishing October 2nd in West Palm Beach, FL with stops along the way in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Holmdel, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington, and more along the way.
Rush has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the RIAA, Rush's sales statistics place RUSH third after The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.
Released in 1981, Moving Pictures was their most successful album, certified 4x Platinum and features some of Rush’s most well known songs and perennial radio favourites Tom Sawyer, Limelight and the Grammy-nominated instrumental YYZ.
“Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage” a documentary created by filmmakers Scot McFadyen & Sam Dunn (whose filmography also includes: “Iron Maiden; Flight 666,’ “Metal, A Headbangers Journey” and “Global Metal”) will premiere at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival on April 24th followed by the Canadian premiere at Toronto’s Hot Docs festival on April 29th. The band was also recently showcased in the comedy “I Love You Man” where they play themselves in a concert scene featuring actors Paul Rudd and Jason Segal as ubra-fans, a performance which has exposed the band to a whole new generation.
Inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame this past March alongside Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Gordon Lightfoot, Rush has also been nominated for multiple Grammy awards and won a number of Juno Awards. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and bestowed the Order of Canada in 1997. Consistently celebrated and respected worldwide, Rush is the most successful Canadian rock band of all time and they remain one of the biggest grossing arena rock bands ever.
Tickets for Rush Time Machine Tour will go on sale beginning April 16th.
