I'm taking my mom to see the Doobie Brothers for her birthday. They are playing a show with Chicago. I was curious to know if I should wait the week of the show to purchase tickets? I know some people have had luck with getting better seats if they wait to purchase tickets a day or two before the concert. What is your advice on this?

Robert Plant is not a rocker anymore. For that I am not a fan. Robert Plant will always be known as a blues rock artist to me. All this side shit of him singing about holding hands and moonbeams just loses my interest.

Well I have to admit Bret Michaels sure has sold his soul to the devil to become popular today. Appearing on reality tv shows and Good Morning America with artists such as Miley Cyrus.
I am not a fan of this at all. I used to like Bret, but he is just not my cup of tea anymore.
What are your thoughts on this guy?

Goin to see Sammy Hagar at Ribfest in Naperville Illinois on July 2nd. General admission seating is $12. You can't beat that! Just gonna grab a spot on the lawn and relax. Don't really care how close I am to the stage. The view is pretty much good anywhere you sit for this. Going with my mom and stepfather along with my aunt and her boyfriend. My sister is gonna go also

Would you say that people who live in the "boondocks" prefer 80's metal over genres such as country, or southern rock?
I am finding it very hard to find people from rural areas to like 80's rock the best. I don't find too many of these people choosing Loudness or Shotgun Messiah, or even Motley crue over bands such as Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry, or Lynyrd Skynyrd.

If you have been holding out hope for new music from Aerosmith we have bad news. Joe Perry doesn't sound very enthused with the idea. He tells the Guardian, "Until a couple of years ago, fans would ask for more records like the old records, but that's all fallen off. New material is not that important any more. We've been at this for a long time. I think of some of the songs I've written or co-written and I think, why should I bother trying to top that? It's like Leonardo Da Vinci painting the Madonna again. Why should I paint the Madonna again?" Thats his way of saying that he feels he is incapable of making songs nowdays that are just as good or better as the stuff that came out in the 70's. Seems as if he has realized his creativity is shot.

Maybe I should have labeled this thread as ...... "Is Classic rock not as popular in rural areas, compared to metropolitan ones? " LOL

From what I have witnessed, if I hear rock in a bar around here, 99 percent of the time its what you hear on top 40 radio. Good example people play the shit out of Nickelback at the bars I have been going to. I never ever have heard anyone play Deep Purple or Cream for example. Its the same old fuckin songs all day long it seems. Or they play Taylor Swift or Rascal Flatts. Then the worst is when they play some top 40 hip hop garbage. To go hear cool classic rock I have to drive 60 miles north to Chicago and the suburbs. They have tons of live bands and people who play classic rock in that area.

I see more people wanting to hear top 40 bullshit when they go out to a bar than some Deep Purple or Thin Lizzy. I don't really understand this cause my favorite music is classic rock. I would rather hear Chiild in Time anyday over what the radio plays. But from what I have witnessed, I don't see alot of people into classic rock that much anymore. Once in a while someone will surprise me by playing something that I enjoy. But overall, most people in the bar scene just don't seem to get the same kind of music I am into.

I'm not a big fan of cover bands, but this should do the original bands justice. These guys are pro's, and they will do a good job on covering these legendary bands.

In The Beginning Shout At The Devil Dr. Feelgood Too Young To Fall In Love Too Fast For Love Kick start My Heart Home Sweet Home (Dedicated to Bluecheer ) Muther Fucker of The Year Saints of Los Angeles Wild Side Same Ol' Situation Live Wire Looks That Kill Primal Scream Cool set. I would leave out Home Sweet Home and Same Ol Situation though at Ozzfest. I would replace HSH with Bastard or Knock Em Dead Kid.

1. What makes you a rocker? I live , eat, and breathe rock n roll. I attend live concerts, listen to heavy metal, classic rock/80's hair metal , and am in charge of promotions and marketing for live bands and also two time Epic Records recording rock artist. Rock N Roll is my religion.
2. Why are you here on this forum? Simply to discuss my love for rock n roll and find others who share the same passion as I do for the genre.
3. Do you want to rock now? Now? I want to all the time! 24/7 !!!
4. how long have you felt this way? Since I was 8 years old.
Two Bonus FORUM QUESTIONS:
5. What do you like most about this forum? Great insight on rock news and the members are people I can relate with.
6. What do you like least about this forum? I think its fine as it is. I just wish the website was still up and running.

I hope to god they don't play any love ballads at this fest lol. They will get booed off the stage! What would be the perfect setlist if you had to choose it for Motley Crue at Ozzfest?
Maybe just stick to playing Shout at the Devil in its entirety?

There is nothing wrong with having strong feelings about this. It just proves how lucky the world is to have fans like you. Without people like you, rock would never be as great as it is today. Cheers.

To say the Warning blows is a pretty strong statement. I disagree. You got one of their best songs ever in Take hold of the Flame. I love their EP the best though. Especially this song, Queen of the Reich.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG8TmjrHq20
