This is because most of their fans that grew up with them are still alive.
Secondly, selling albums doesn't mean you are talented. Mozart had more talent than the Beatles, but does he sell as many albums? No. Not nearly as many. If you opened the dictionary and searched for pop music, the Beatles would have their picture in there. People are brainwashed. Tell people over and over again that the Beatles are god and the best band ever, and people buy into it. There are plenty of artists that came before and after the beatles that are rolling over in their graves by the way because of this. You know who else sells alot of albums but isn't talented? Elvis. He wouldn't know how to write a song if it kicked him in the ass. He was chosen because of his good looks and singing ability. When it came to being an artist, he is about as overrated as they come. Now I'm not saying the Beatles are not talented. They are! But, alot of people buy their albums because they have been brainwashed to believe that the Beatles are the holy grail of music.
Simply put.......
I can't believe that I share a forum with the likes of you?
Now...you're going to bring Elvis into the mix?
Bad enough you slam and hammer The Beatles...
Seriously?...where the fuck were you in 1964
when The Beatles hit American soil pal?...huh?...HUH???
Give your head a shake young fella for you know
not what you speak of. You haven't got a clue
when it comes to music, life, or anything else related
to either of the genres...trust me...you've proved
as much in your statements, posts and responses
since you've been a member here in regards to
any topic posted yet we have collectively tolerated
the drivel that you espouse and go on about
...Good on us huh!!!
Better yet...GOOD ON YOU...but I will tell you this my
boy...when you start making no sense whatsover about
Elvis, or The Beatles, then you, my friend start chipping
away at the foundation of classic rock as I know it...and
that, THAT...my boy...is where I have to draw the line.
Best for you to go back and pick up some of the older
music...start with some of the stuff that influenced
Elvis...then continue on with some of what influenced
The Beatles...and I'm just not talking about one of them.
Read a book! Check out who influenced John Lennon...or
Paul...or George or yes...even Richard Starky.
And for what it's worth, I don't need to hear further fromothers about how "baaaad" John was or how fucked up Paul got to the point where he was busted in Japan for hemp...We all know that...at least I do...We know that and that has nothing to do with their musical legacy for fuck sakes!
Nirvana, Guns and Roses...enuf already....The Beatles have them
beat hands down in terms of a legacy.
Simply put, this outfit had a pretty good run, in terms of music over a very, very short 8 year career...yet made a huge impact
on the music at the time, and the days ahead. Anyone that believes otherwise simply has their head in the sand.
I challenge anyone that has little knowledge of their catalogue, to at least give it a listen. Surely there is one genre or era that would find a place in your heart........Why you ask?......because they ran the gamut in all of them...genres I mean.
Okay, so, the best thing I can suggest is this...you want
Beatle variety...go to The White Album.
I promise...there will be at least ONE song on that album that
you'll "kinda like"...and after a few spins..."really like"!
Blue...you really need to check these guys out.
Open your mind.
Trust me...it'll all come together for you when you do.
Thanks
Kim
