Yeah, so do I. I jumped on the Buckcherry bandwagon when they put out 15. I was aware of 'Lit Up' prior to that but that was about it. When 15 came out I really got into them and picked up their first two which where really good. I even enjoyed the Josh Todd solo Spacel0rd sent me. But their last one Black Butterfly was boring. AMG, although more harshly than I would, sums it up. it's dutiful cardboard c*ck rock. If the band played with any sense of enthusiasm, this could be tempting toxicity — music you know is bad for you but you can't resist. But Buckcherry are so far gone on the road of rock & roll indulgence they wind up repeating the same stupid excesses not because they're fun, but because they don't know how to do anything else. Far from being the soundtrack to a raging party, Black Butterfly is the flip side of indulgence: Buckcherry are now the sound of a slow slide into the monotony of addiction. Whats odd is, before I heard a note from Black Butterfly....before I even knew the name of the CD and when it was gonna be released...I had a feeling it would kinda suck. I'm not a "child"...but I called it. OK Carnac what's your prognostication for the next one?

I know that I'm gonna hammered, flamed, beat up, and all sorts of good things here for what I'm about to say...but just hold on here a minute... ...not to single anyone out, but am I to believe that "KISS - DYNASTY" is a heavy metal album? "2,000 Man"... ?? "I Was Made For Loving You".......... ...am I also led to believe that Nazareth's "Hair of The Dog" is also considered to be a "Heavy Metal Album"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but are these 2 aforementioned releases not considered but just 2 of the many greatest "rock and roll" albums of all time? I didn't realize that either of these albums were considered "metal"? Seriously, as dark and sombre as Nazareth can get, i.e. "Please Don't Judas Me", for example off of another great release, certainly doesn't fit the "heavy metal" bill? ?? Drag down and drop dead blues...maybe...but not metal??? I never considered Naz as "Heavy Metal"... ? KISS?...Heavy metal? Maybe I'm really out of touch here, but as heavy as this band gets, they still sound like they love to "rock and roll"? "I Was made For Loving You" is not metal is it? Neither is "Lick It Up"... Also, AC/DC and RUSH listed as "Heavy Metal"? Again, sorry, I don't mean to single any of the contributions out here, but now I do have to say I'm becoming a bit confused here??? I'm about to throw on "Sweet's" Ballroom Blitz and seriously... I'm wondering...am I listening to Easy Listening, Pop, Rock, Heavy Metal, Alternative, Grunge or Rap? ?..........or a combination of all genres listed above? Thanks Kim I probably wouldn't have listed Nazareth or Pyromania and definitely not 5150 if it weren't for Spacl0rd's #1 rule in the thread of not allowing to argue what is metal or not. but since you started it... Some of the ones on my list I was going back and forth whether they could be considered metal or not. So I thought back to when they came out like Pyromania or in case of 'Hair of the Dog my earliest memory and what they were considered at the time. I agree that that both probably wouldn't be considered heavy metal now but at the time a strong argument could be made for both albums being considered heavy metal. I also think the least metal of my list would probably be 5150 but I just added that after I saw hojam had it on his list so I added to mine because I really like 5150!

It's official, the summer tour that started because Lollapalooza didn't think Ozzy was current enough to include in their lineup is back. Ozzy Osbourne announced the 2010 Ozzfest on Friday, which will feature the tour's namesake and another metal legend, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford as main stage attractions along with Motley Crue (who tried their own summer music festival), DevilDriver and Nonpoint. The Second stage will be headed up by Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, plus sets by Kingdom of Sorrow, and Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm.
This year's tour is set to kick off August 14 in San Bernardino (the birthplace of the first Ozzfest in 1996) and then make stops in Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT, Camden, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA and Boston, MA. Only those six dates have been announced, with no word of additional dates to be added. So this looks like it.
The 2010 OZZFEST dates are as follows:
Sat, Aug 14 - San Bernardino, CA - San Manuel Amphitheater
Tue, Aug 17 - Chicago, IL - First Midwest Bank Amp.
Thurs, Aug 19 - Pittsburgh, PA - First Niagara Pavilion
Sat , Aug 21 - Hartford, CT - Comcast Theater
Sun, Aug 22 - Camden, NJ - Susquehanna
Tue, Aug 24 - Boston, MA - Comcast Center

Buckcherry have finished recording their new album – and it should be out by late summer.
The record’s to be called All Night Long and the title track is to be put out as a single. The band describe this song as “an instant top-down summer anthem”.

Slash had an indecent proposal for popster Justin Bieber when the pair met in Sydney, Australia this weekend - he invited the 16 year old to a strip club. The pair met over the weekend and Bieber suggested they head out for dinner - but Slash had other plans for a meeting with the teenager. Slash explains, "I told him, I said maybe me and the Mrs. will take you to a strip bar. But that didn't happen 'cause his minder told me that he's got a curfew and he's with his mom." Slash tweeted “I Taught Ludacris Everything He Knows About Girls. Maybe the missus & I can take Justin & co to dinner & a titty bar. Australia has some amazing gentleman's clubs.'

Sgt. Pepper Live" featuring Cheap Trick, a dazzling musical experience featuring world-famous rock stars, the Sgt. Pepper Symphony Orchestra and a live interpretation of one of the most beloved rock albums in history, will take the stage for a limited engagement beginning June 11 at the Paris Las Vegas Theatre. A celebration of The Beatles' influential album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the show is an energetic performance that features an orchestra and a captivating experience of light and sound as Cheap Trick perform the entire album live as well as select Cheap Trick songs that lend themselves to orchestral arrangements.
Geoff Emerick, the renowned engineer of The Beatles' classic 1967 album (and many others), supervises the audio production. Never performed in its entirety by The Beatles due to the complex studio technology of the day that was employed in the making of the album, "Sgt. Pepper Live" allows Cheap Trick to incorporate their brand of power-pop into the classic songs while paying tribute to music legends in an unforgettable musical experience.
"Paris Las Vegas, at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, is the perfect venue for this world-class musical experience," said Bill Edwards, CEO of Bill Edwards Presents Inc., and executive producer of the production. "Bringing the music of The Beatles together with the performance of Cheap Trick creates an unforgettable show that brings to life one of the most beloved albums in rock and roll history in a truly innovative way."
Cheap Trick is best known for its classic singles, "I Want You To Want Me" and "Surrender." The American power-pop progenitors recorded the album All Shook Up in 1980 with Sir George Martin and Geoff Emerick, producer and engineer of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Emerick will continue to oversee the audio production for "Sgt. Pepper Live." He received Grammy Awards for the engineering of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road.

A movie based on the life of Ozzy Osbourne is to go into production imminently.Blabbermouth have reported that Sharon Osbourne said of these plans: “There’s about to be a big announcement. It’s been picked up and it’s going into production. We’re going to make a press announcement hopefully within the next two weeks. There’s no cast yet, but we have a producer and we have lots of money and we’re all starting.”
Who do you think should play Ozzy?

Klaus Meine says he wants the Scorpions to be remembered as a "killer live band" – and not as a ballads band.
The singer fully agrees with the German squad's decision to retire after one last world tour. With final album Sting in the Tail hailed as a return to form, and a three-year world trek planned, Meine wants to be remembered for songs such as Rock You Like a Hurricane rather than Winds of Change.
He tells Goldmine: "Remember us as a killer live band. Don't call us a ballads band. We're always a live band from the heart. We were always a band with great songs, great melodies – and that can live on in the hearts of the fans.
"We're proud we found out audience in the world and that we never lost the excitement and passion. On stage, the Scorpions will always sting."
Amongst Meine's fondest memories are playing Madison Square Garden in New York and jamming with USSR president Michael Gorbachev as the Soviet Union dismantled in the early 1990s.
He admits the they've had their low points, but one of the reasons they decided to split up after Sting in the Tail is that the new album connects strongly with their greatest achievements.
He explains: "I think in the last few years we're back on track, where we've tried to focus on what made the Scorpions really strong.
"You go to a radio station and you proudly present your new album and they go, 'Well, that's cool, but let's play Rock You Like a Hurricane.' In a way you're stuck in this kind of window. It's great that you have classics and they'll live for ever – but this album very much connect with the stuff we did in the 80s. I'm not saying it's an 80s album, but it brings the best of the Scorpions out.
"It's hard to compete with your own history, so the focus was more on attitude – make an album where people can feel, 'These guys have fun playing their music.'"
The Scorpions hope to bring former members Michael Shenker and Uli Jon Roth in for some guest appearance during their three-year final tour. But unlike some bands, there's no chance of them changing their minds about splitting up.
Meine says: "Rudolf Shenker and myself, we just passed 60. The Rolling Stones are a blues band, but we're a hard rock band and there's so much energy on stage. How can you sing Rock You Like a Hurricane standing still in front of your fans? No way.
"We felt, 'Man, we go two or three years on the road again – then what? How long can we do this?' We don't want to finish off slowing down in front of our audience, saying we can't do it any more. You've got to be realistic. Close the book."
The frontman namechecks Raised on Rock and The Good Die Young as tracks to note on Sting in the Tail, and asks fans to pay particular attention to a song called SLY.
He explains: "It's a ballad, but more in the true rock ballad fashion. When Still Loving You, off Love at First Sting, was a smash hit back in the 80s, many folks made love to that song. Many people told us in Europe, especially in France, 'We called our daughter Sly because of Still Loving You.
"So I thought it would be a nice idea to write a song about that girl, Sly."

There's nothing new on the album but it's fun to see AC/DC continually kick ass. From what I've read it will chart pretty high in the U.S. as well.
