Check it out:
Carping about the growth of government (U.S.) since Obama took office is dumb. Perhaps you've been listening to a bit too much day time talk radio. Bush was the one that grew the Federal government in grotesque proportions with his monster beuracracy of "Homeland Security". Just another thick layer of file cabinets, office space and paper tigers to do jobs already assigned to the FBI, CIA, NSA, Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Corps and Army. His actions were ALL Gargantuan WASTE-WASTE-WASTE! (Bush was soooo not a conservative)
Check it out: The United States, besides being in an economic crisis is also growing in population. Naturally, government services should keep up. More roads, more file clerks, firemen, policemen... and the like. (Get It?) Plus, were at war. The conflict in Afganistan is ramping up.
Check it out: The United States of America is REPUBLIC. A representative republic. Characterizing it as a simple democracy is an error. Socialism applied to certain facets of society shouldn't freak folks out like it does, but it does. Insurance companies prior to the mid-1930s were NON-PROFIT. They were to replace loss. That's it. Socialized medicine works. Ask anybody that has travelled abroad and gotten hurt, then had to get medical care. Believe me, they got fixed without being shook down for all the cash they had and their family members wallets were safe too. Healthcare works when it's about being healthy. Our system is now rigged to nurture illness. Sick people are profits. That is WRONG. I shouldn't have to explain that. Wrestling healthcare away from the AMA should be a priority. They like sick people not healthy people.
Finally, Check this out: Fixing things costs money. Our country needs fixing. Capitalism had it's reigns loosened for a bit too long and the profiteers got a bit whacky with it. Now there is a mess to clean up. It also takes time. Give our President the benefit of the doubt. He's all about fixing the place up. Everything he's done so far has been to that end.

It'll never happen. It's been my understanding that Van Halen never wanted an opening act to be "too good". If Triumph are up to bringing their "A" game, they would blow Van Halen off the stage most nights. Eddie and Dave wouldn't like that. BTW- I WOULD love to see that tour though. I dunno. The Van Halen reunion tour in late '07 was a smokin' show that was nothing less than top drawer as a performance when I saw them. ...best concert I've yet seen (or heard).

Is it wasteful? My opinion is that if it kept the United States economy from collapsing, it was not.
The U.S. economy would bring down other economies of foreign nations with it. (like the Great Depression). Perhaps Americans wouldn't have starved this time around, but I really don't want to see if it would have come to that.
Obama is leading the country without regard to popularity and public opinion. By the way, that is, historically the common denominator of all great leaders. He's doing his best for our country and it seems to be working. The economy is rebounding. There's vigor in new industries and revitalization starting in others.

A collapse of the U.S. economy was prevented. Many United States citizens do not remember their civics class in high school. There, we were shown how some Americans actually starved to death during the Great Depression. That was some of most graphic examples. Mostly though, the country was just turned into a wasteland (literally). The majority of the population couldn't buy anything that was being manufactured. 'Twas complete, economic disaster. Ask your great grandparents about it. That is what I'm talking about, when a GREAT Depression was avoided. What steps has he taken to avoid a Great Depression? He has done nothing but hamper economic growth at every opportunity and has made every President and Congress prior look like novices at deficit spending. All of his economic stimulus packages were almost completely pork much of which hasn't been spent yet. In a time when our country's biggest problem are deficits he seems hell bent on increasing them exponentially. A: Infused cash into key industries such as Auto makers and banks.

An excerpt from an interview at Gibson.com with Rick Emmet. ...We’re scheduled to go for a dinner tonight with a couple of guys from Live Nation that have flown into town and want to take us to dinner. I’m sure there’s going to be some sort of a pitch. The rumors that have been sort of blowing in the wind are that Van Halen want to go back out yet again next year, but they’re going to need some sort of support to make the packaging a little more interesting. Because Triumph hasn’t really ever toured in any kind of a nostalgia way, I think Live Nation kind of goes, “Oh, yeah, you guys would be perfect for that.” So, we’ll see sort of the size and the shape and the glitter of the golden carrots that they have. Now that'd be a show to see. Do it. Do it. Do it!!!

I'm getting seriously stoked. Very, very seriously stoked for the Scorpions show. I don't think I've been this excited for a concert since... Truly, I can't remember. Maybe Schenker in '04. (But there was a pall of doubt from a history of "no-shows" for that) I'm taking my awe inspiring girlfriend and my two best friends in the world. And we're all Scorpion-Freak-A-Zoidal FANS! Make no mistake, this is rock'n roll history in the making. Dang! FINAL TOUR... holy crap! CONCORD, CALIFORNIA Aug. 1st! then: Sacramento on the 8th

Obama prevented a full scale depression and minimized the recession. He's done what he said he'd do. Obama said "The era of borrowing and spending is over" Obama said if Congress did not pass the second porkulous bill unemployment would go passed 8% lol. He says so much there's bound to be a few things. I said I'm gonna stop Canada from attacking. I did what I said I'd do. Canada has not attacked....yet. A collapse of the U.S. economy was prevented. Many United States citizens do not remember their civics class in high school. There, we were shown how some Americans actually starved to death during the Great Depression.
