I'm getting seriously stoked. Very, very seriously stoked for the Scorpions show. I don't think I've been this excited for a concert since... Truly, I can't remember. Maybe Schenker in '04. (But there was a pall of doubt from a history of "no-shows" for that) I'm taking my awe inspiring girlfriend and my two best friends in the world. And we're all Scorpion-Freak-A-Zoidal FANS! Make no mistake, this is rock'n roll history in the making. Dang! FINAL TOUR... holy crap! CONCORD, CALIFORNIA Aug. 1st! then: Sacramento on the 8th

As long as they don't do Wind of Change and all that electronica crap they dished out lately, the Scorpions are ALRIGHT:)

Bring on the Wind of Change. My friends and I love that F'ing song. It must be an age thing. For the better part 45 years the United Soviet Socialist Republic Navy would rush our shores right up to the international waters line every fucking week with submarines that held no less than 48 thermonuclear warheads. And every fucking week for over 45 years, the United Soviet Socialist Republic Air Force would appear over the Yukon and Alaskan frontier armed with 33,000 lbs of nukes. We were glad when that ended and the Scorps were too, apparently. Now for anything from "Eye to Eye" you can count us out.

Well I'd be happy not to hear anything from any album after 'Love At First Sting'.

Well, I did actually make it to the Concord show after all. ...got there just in the nick of time when Cinderella opened. (did not make a set list, sorry) They did play all their hits and songs with cool hooks though. Scorpions totally rocked. I thought the sound wasn't loud enough. They were quieter than Cinderella. (sorry, no set list) We had general admission tickets but we sat in seats of late people. HA! Up front, the Scorpions sound was perfect. Misc Notes: They played songs mostly off Black Out and Love at First Sting and a few new ones. 3 encores... Rudy Schenker played lead on "Coast to Coast", and Klaus Mein played guitar on that one too. Cool, with four dudes jamin' on gee-tars. They didn't play "No One Like You"... kind of surprising.

Actually they did play 'No One Like You'. It was the first encore song just before 'Hurricane'. I was pretty disappointed too be honest. Even though they played a lot of the older tracks, the new one's just don't compare. They wasted about 20 minutes playing their soft crap (although I do like the fact they played the whole of 'Holiday') one after the other & then wasted another 20 minutes doing stupid solos. I would have loved to hear 'He's A Woman, She's A Man' like they played the last time I saw them but, for me, it wasn't The Scorpions show it could have been. Definately the worst time I have seen them.

I went to the Sacramento show too. It was a blast. To be disapointed with this Scorpions show is easy because they play less than an hour and a half and they have something like 300 great songs from over 35 years of Rockin' and Rollin'. I knew this going into it. My girlfriend was able to attend this show with my friends and I. Being a Wednesday, the Minor League Baseball stadium was only half full. Those that attended ran the gamut of pre-teens to very, very old folks in wheelchairs and walkers (or at least they appeared very old). HAAA! Highlights included : Tribute to Dio ..."Send Me An Angel" "Black Out" was performed with Rudolph Schenker wearing the get up from the album cover. ...you know, the gauze and forks in the eyes?!?! Cool. Introduction of the hometown boy, Jeff Keith from Tesla to help sing "Rock You Like a Hurricane". Also on "Rock You Like a Hurricane", the lead guitar player and drummer from Ratt came on stage to help with the song. (wierd to see two drummers on one kit... kinda funny) I was impressed with this concert. The Scorpions are REAL professionals and they do their songs in top-drawer fashion. It was really fun and my friends and I were so close we took incredible photos of the Scorpions on stage. We were only six folks back from the stage and the stage had a central runway. Sometimes the musicians were actually behind us. My girlfriend's camera has yet to be downloaded of our terrific photos. If you want, I'll post them. ...but ONLY BY REQUEST. (Ha!)
