Genes Simmons ripped Rhianna but Tommy Lee is a fan.
"Time to clear the air!"
"We all know how 'the press' sure likes to pick up on negative stuff and run with it, so I'm gonna clean my side of the street.
"Gene Simmons recently mentioned at our Motley/KISS tour announcement on Tuesday about his distaste for faking it on stage. I somehow got lumped into that by saying that I, too, am tired of all the watered-down, not-so-real performances on award shows/live concerts/etc.
"I am a fan of Rihanna's and think she's an amazing singer/entertainer and I think you all know how much I f**king love electronic music and dance. I make and perform electronic music live. And who am I to say what’s good/bad/real or fake? It is what it is, right?...
"I'll just keep doin my thang hoping that you're all entertained on the highest levels!!!"

(Sub) Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh returns with Analog Man, his first solo album in two decades to be released on June 5th, 2012 from Fantasy Records/Concord. Analog Man is both modern and timelessly soulful, packed with Walsh's beloved wit, charm and chops; it delivers an incredibly raw and intimate sound. "It's been 20 years and I have a lot to say," said Walsh. "These songs come from the heart." Walsh, best known for his powerful guitar licks, joined the Eagles in 1976 and is credited for bringing a harder rock sound to the band with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live. A singer-songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Walsh has entertained for more than four decades, not only as a solo artist, but as part of admired bands like The James Gang and Barnstorm. As a self-proclaimed Analog Man, also the album name and title track, Walsh refers playfully to the new digital age; one in which he has adapted to, but notes in the song, "I am what I am – I'm an Analog Man." Walsh developed the album over the last 10 years, drawing on personal experiences to breathe life into each track. "I just really feel like it's all come together and finally I feel like a complete person and a complete musician," said Walsh. "I think there is some confidence in there that I never had. That's what I was hiding." Walsh credits his wife of four years, Marjorie, for encouraging him to be the man and artist he is today and fondly dedicates this album to her. The 10-track album was produced by Jeff Lynne and Joe Walsh with Tommy Lee James co-writing some of the tracks. "Lucky That Way," one of Walsh's favorites off the album, speaks to the extraordinary life he's lived, even through the hurdles, and features Ringo Starr, his real life brother-in-law, on drums. The song ironically serves as a mature sequel to Walsh's famed "Life's Been Good" and for Walsh, life is just that. Listen to the title track here bit.ly/JWamQT

Slash has confirmed the rumours surrounding the possibility of Guns N’ Roses performing at their induction into to Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame next month.
“We’re not playing,” the guitarist tells the Toronto Sun. “I would imagine that they asked us to play but I know that we’re not playing.”
A staff member at Envision Radio Networks leaked the news recently while posting under musical director Paul Shaffer’s twitter account; an Envision management type called the tweet “inadvertent” while not denying its accuracy.
Calling the music industry recognition “an honour,” Slash added, “Either it hasn’t hit me yet or maybe it’s been so long since I had anything to do with Guns N’ Roses that I just don’t really get it.”
Still, Slash, 46, said he’s definitely attending the event in Cleveland, despite no fondness for dressing up. “It’s a formal, I hate formals,” he said.
The guitarist also expects former GNR drummer Steven Adler, with whom he recently played with on a ballad off Adler’s new band’s upcoming album, to be there too. “I could be positive Steven will be there. Steven wouldn’t miss it,” said Slash.
He just couldn’t speak to the attendance of the rest of the GNR classic lineup, specifically GNR lead singer Axl Rose. “I don’t know. I would assume so but we haven’t talked about it,” he said.
The GNR situation has been talked about since the band’s Rock Hall nomination last fall, with former band members hesitant to commit to anything, not unusual in the GNR universe…even moreso since they are no longer a part of the current lineup.

From the list Van Halen. It's fund to have Dave back and Van Halen making decent music again. Off the list I'd have to go with Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason.

I had to pick Back In Black but I really like Razor's Edge. I'm gonna go into true confessions mode here. In high school I used to be a pop fan. I liked all the pop stuff. Duran Duran, Micheal Jackson, Power Station, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Animotion, Human League etc... AC/DC and Def Leppard got me hooked on rock. At first it was Lep. I was a huge fan of Pryomania and everything that followed. Than Razor's Edge came out and I got into AC/DC. I started looking into earlier back catalogs of AC/DC and Def Leppard and that also brought me to the likes of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd etc. So I have a very soft spot for Razor's Edge but BIB is my favorite now. I've been drinking tonight and I'm listening to Toto. Kim would probably like that. I think he left. I came to CRR many years ago and learned about real music. Awesmome music. From Spacelo0rd, Jessie, Frank, Jammin Jim, Kim, Picklehead, Sandi, Equinox, Rush862, Mrspeedgene, Trexx, Warpig, Dreamtide, Scott, Hifi Chick, Mr Ace, hojam, Dreamtide, Rocknut, FunkyCanuck, Axisboldaslove, Nightwatcher, and all you other crazy fucks. Even Jeb and pooldude. You newer dudes like Snakes and Cozy rock too. Oh hell sorry Rick fellow Pink Floyd dude you too. lol I thought I knew music and you guys opened my eyes to a lot of cool shit. This forum is slowing but I still come here to maybe learn something new or post shit i'm interested in. You fuckers rock... oh yeah I umm Back IN Blcack.

Sammy Hagar has spoken out, this time at more length, about Ronnie Montrose, who died on Saturday, March 3, at the age of 64. Hagar had issued a statement immediately following the news that his former bandmate had passed away, but expounded on his thoughts and feelings a few days later.
The two teamed up in the early ’70s rock band Montrose, and the Red Rocker credited his late cohort with giving him his first break. That’s a dynamic common to many legendary musical collaborations and partnerships.
Hagar pretty much offered up a eulogy to Montrose in Rolling Stone. His thoughts are touching and from the heart, recalling how his lack of experience didn’t stop the guitarist from taking a chance on him and getting him to sing. He also shared the fact that upon seeing how confidently Ronnie played guitar with the Edgar Winter Group, he knew that was how he wanted to sing and play guitar.
The Chickenfoot singer also revealed that the “other” band he was in, Van Halen, which just so happened to feature the guitarist’s last name as the group’s moniker as well, had much respect and admiration for Montrose, and in fact modeled their debut album on Montrose’s self-titled effort.
Most importantly, though, Hagar claimed that he wants Ronnie Montrose to be remembered as a pioneer in this genre of music. Well said, Sammy. Well said.
Below is the conclusion of Hagar’s statement:
as one of the pioneers of American heavy/hard rock. And certainly, one of the great hard rock guitar players. But he was more than that – he was really versatile. But if you’re going to remember him for anything, put on that first Montrose record. The only positive I can grab onto is the fact that the music will live on. It’s a shame to lose Ronnie and I’m so sorry for his loved ones. Rest in peace.

Black Sabbath have called off their reunion tour as a result of guitarist Tony Iommi’s ongoing battle with cancer.
They’ll play just one show from the planned dates, at the UK’s Download Festival in June. The previously announced shows will be performed by singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler with guest artists including Zakk Wylde and Slash.
The metal giants announced they’d started work on the first album featuring their original lineup last year – but almost immediately ran into trouble, with Iommi revealing he’d been diagnosed with lymphoma, then drummer Bill Ward saying he hadn’t been offered a contract he found “signable”.
In a statement the band say: “Sabbath have had to put some plans on hold due to Tony Iommi’s battle with lymphoma.
“So as not to let the promoters and fans down, Ozzy Osbourne will perform the majority of the previously scheduled Sabbath dates, billed as Ozzy And Friends. The shows will feature Geezer Butler and former Ozzy band member Zakk Wylde. In addition, Ozzy will be accompanied by Slash at certain shows, with other special guests set to join the tour at various stops along the way.
“Tony continues to make excellent progress and is looking forward to getting back on the road. Black Sabbath continue to write and record music in the UK for their upcoming album.”
Meanwhile, Ward has commented on the grassroots support shown for his contractual struggles with Sabbath’s management. He’s underlined that he hasn’t refused to be part of the reunion, and remains hopeful their issues can be resolved.
The drummer says: “Last week we sent further communication to the attorney handling the negotiations to try to reach an agreement. We are waiting to hear back.
“I want to thank everyone who has voiced and posted their opinions. I applaud your worldwide reaction in support of the original band. Speaking for myself, your intent and truth will always be respected.”
But he adds: “Keep in mind that Tony, Ozzy and Geezer are still my lifetime friends, and I cannot support comments with an objectifying or derogatory theme toward them or their various representatives.”
