I remember years ago that if you didn't have a place to go to or were'nt getting together with at least a dozen friends, something was terribly wrong. In my 20's I would have died not having a bash to be a part of...and fortunately, for the most part, that happened.
Once married and in my 30's, my wife and I vowed to make sure that we were going to at least be a part of something for the New Year...and once again, for the most part, I can recall many a Happy New Years celebrations...as fuzzy as some of them were...haha
Something about hitting 40 though and the fact that even if you do get together with friends, it's not all that it used to be cracked up to be...something about being content with oneself and knowing that it's a celebration just getting to ring in the New Year with your signifigant other.
Looking forward to making some mucnhies...maaaaybe having a drink or two at home and curling up to relax and watch some movies with the cat on our laps and being thankful for what we have. Best part of that is I get to wake up early the next morning to make a nice breakfast without having my head go bang BANG BANG!!!!!! hahahahahahaha
To all of the younger folks on the board...all my best to you...go out and party like there's no tomorrow...you deserve it and you have the intestinal fortitude to get away with doing so...trust me!!!... you'll recover in short time and live to rejoice the following year...*have one for me*!!!
To all of the other great kids on the board that are closer to my age bracket...enjoy the celebration, regardless of what you may have planned for the evening...be thankful for good health and great family...we've been there and we've done that so it is with respect to ourselves that we treat ourselves accordingly to witness many more Happy New Years to come...all the best to everyone...I'm sure it's going to be a good one.
HAPPY NEW YEARS gang!!! I love ya!!!...it's my pleasure being part of such a great board!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Kim

Yes, nicely said, Kim!
Me ... I got over wanting to party my brains out for New Year's a long time ago ... Wait! Then again I don't think I wanted to, for the most part, in the first place! LOL I'm still open to getting together with a few good friends when the opportunity arises. Otherwise I prefer holing up in the oyster shell ... taking down the CHRISTMAS decorations ... popping the cork off a bottle of sparkling white wine (since it's from Spain and not a certain region in France I can't refer to it as you-know-what). Also today I have a quart of eggnog (from the dairy case - I used to not even know about the alcohol spiked version), some albums and videos I'm planning on checking out, a few other "projects" I'm doing.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

We don't normally go out on "amateur" nights...and tonight's no exception. We're just gonna hang around the house with some pals...maybe jacuzzi...light a fire...play board games...listen to music!!!! Lots of snacks, love and laughter. I wish the same for all of you, tonight and in the upcoming year!!!!

Happy New Year everyone. It's going to bee a good New Year! Tickets for Queen + Paul Rodgers in March and a new Gilmour album the same month. For the first time in years I'm not partying tonight. I volunteered to work the overnight because a flu bug has gone through the station. . So no one has tonight off and you all have to keep posting so I have something to do.

Yeah, he sure had a major stroke, looks like his right side is still paralyzed, they had it positioned so you couldn't see it, his speech has really been affected, but you could really tell he worked hard to be able to be on last night. My hats off to him for him to be able to do this.
