I watched the movie "Independence Day: Resurgence" the other night. Got me thinking: What are the last 5 movies anybody saw that were NOT a total waste of your viewing time? (Hint: "Independence Day: Resurgence" wasn't one of mine )

I actually saw the latest 'Halloween' movie at the theater and enjoyed it. My only issue with that sequel is that it is only the sequel to the first movie and disregards 'Halloween II' ....which in my opinion was a mistake to do. Part II was the same night as the original movie and still very good.
I thought the sequel to Blade Runner was very good. I am hoping Harrison Ford does a 3 rd movie. The Remake of 'IT' was good...and pretty scary. Black Panther and the last Avengers movies were also very good.

Haven't seen any of them. Some movies I've seen rather recently that weren't total wastes of time were: Now You See Me Now You See Me 2 Tag The Cube Bean
I had seen Bean back when it was in theaters 20+ years ago, still funny! Tag was good, but not as funny as I thought it'd be. The Now You See Me movies are awesome. I think they're working on a third one! The Cube reminded me of the Saw movies a little bit.

Was The Cube movie the one where a bunch of strangers wake up in this cube structure and it is booby trapped and they have to find a way out? I saw that movie years ago and thought it was interesting. Some pretty violent and bizarre death scenes in that one. Not familiar with the Now You See Me movies or Tag.

I saw that movie years ago and thought it was interesting. Some pretty violent and bizarre death scenes in that one. Not familiar with the Now You See Me movies or Tag. Yup. that's "The Cube". I thought it was pretty cool. Not quite as predictable as most movies. I'm at the point now where I like to see something different. Almost every movie I watch, it seems like I've seen before in some way shape or form. "The Cube" was a little different in that regard. "Now You See Me" is about 4 magicians who somehow rob banks while putting on a magic show at the same time and an FBI agent who always seems to be one step behind. A little bit unbelievable in spots, but a plot twist at the end that makes you want to watch it a second and third time. The sequel wasn't quite as good, but I still enjoyed it. "Tag" just came out this past Summer. Good movie about a bunch of middle-aged friends who have played tag during the month of May since they were kids. One of them has never been tagged and is trying to keep that streak alive while the others are determined that this is the year they make him "it". Pretty funny, but not as funny as the previews led me to believe. Still a good movie though.

Cool I will check those movies out....you have me curious. "the Cube" almost seems like it could have been an influence on whoever wrote the Saw series of movies. Similar premise.

I watched "Escape Plan" over the weekend. That was a pretty good movie if you haven't seen it already.

Jack Reacher is another good one. Not normally a fan of Tom Cruise movies, but this one was really good. Murder/mystery type of thing. Not a whole lot of over-the-top action scenes that tend to ruin movies for me these days. Just a good ol' "whodunnit" movie.

I actually love most of Tom Cruise's movies. They guy is a strange cat for sure but I can't help but like his movies and the first Jack Reacher movie is great. The second one is really good to....but the first one is the best.

Just watched the 2nd Jack Reacher movie and you are right: Not as good as the first. Still entertaining, but more cliched and more fast-paced-like the writers had ADD. I enjoyed it, but I kinda wish they'd just let it go at one movie.

Yeah no doubt. I think the story was better with the first movie....but still the second one I liked and I think they could do a third movie and maybe get back to what made the first one so good. The first one had more of a Mission Impossible feel to it....
