Every band these days claims their latest album (er...sorry, CD ;D) is gonna take them "back to our roots". Most of these claims are pure bullshit, but once in awhile an artist will actually go back to their roots for an album or two..........I think......can we think of any artist who's actually done that?

I would say ZZ Top have definitely gone back to their blues roots the last decade or so.

Yeah I was gonna say ZZ Top as well. Def Leppard say this a lot but never do. I heard this new song on the radio the other day and I didn't know who it was and I thought what shit is this? It sounds like someone trying to sound like cliche 80s rockers but this is terrible. ...and it was Def Leppard's new song lol.
Whitesnake kind of did but Coverdale's voice is too far gone it doesn't quite capture it. Ratt I think succeeded in going back to their roots but than quickly imploded.

Tesla has always remained true and has never had to go back to anything. If anything they've gotten better.
