After two or three songs, I get a little bored with them.

Have you ever arrived late to the party, when it comes to a popular band? What I mean is…have you ever ignored or didn’t care for a popular band for years, and then one day find out how good they actually are? I knew all the hits by the Kinks, along with a couple album cuts (Celluloid Heroes, Rock N Roll Fantasy)…but I never dug deep into their catalog until this past month. Damn, they got a crap load of great songs I never knew about! “Misfits” “David Watts” “Autumn Almanac” “Permanent Waves” “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” “Living On a Thin Line” "I'm Not Like Everybody Else"
…and more
What took me so long?

Yea. I got the "Cop Killer" version. I bought the CD the week it came out, so I was able to get it before it was banned. No doubt, some songs are down-right sick (Momma's Gotta Die Tonight). But I sure do find myself singing along. Ha. There Goes the Neighborhood!

Anyone remember Ice-T’s metal band Body Count? I bought this when it first came out in 1992 and played the death out of it. Shortly after it’s release, the song, “Cop Killer,” caused quite a controversy. The CD was soon pulled from the shelves and Ice-T left Warner Brothers and re-released the CD without the song. I am very glad I bought it when “Cop Killer” was still on it. Now it’s a collector’s item. But…it’s been 18 years…and some of the songs still seem to go over the line (in a tongue and cheek kinda way with a wink). A few songs have lyrics that are waaayyy “worse” than “Cop Killer.” But I think a lot of the songs are kick-ass, good metal songs. And I think the guitar work is pretty damn good. There’s a lot of “F*** You’s” and “Suck my D**k’s” peppered throughout the CD…but hey, it’s Ice-T from 1992. What you expect?

...Eddie Rabbit, Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Joan Baez, ABBA, Devo, John Lennon, Quiet Riot, The Fresh Prince, Michael Jackson, and more are all mentioned in this VERY cool song:

A lot of bands have (at least) one album that is hated by fans of that particular band. Whether its “Trans” by Neil Young, or “Born Again” by Black Sabbath, or “A” by Jethro Tull, or “Blow Up You Video” by AC/DC, or Van Halen III. Maybe the band changed their sound a bit. Maybe they let in keyboards. Maybe they went a little more commercial. Maybe a lot of people just think the songs weren’t up to par…
But some of us really like these type of albums.
What are some that you like?
Me? I like:
Landing On Water- Neil Young Soldiers of Fortune- The Outlaws American Dream- CSN&Y Ceremony- The Cult Chinese Democracy- Guns N’ Roses Risk – Megadeth St. Anger- Metallica True Love- Pat Benatar Grace Under Pressure- Rush

Thanks, Kim. I am not sure what you mean by "what's the substrate used." And I dont know about acid free bases. I just used a #2 pencil. At the time, I really wasnt thinking that much about it. I am not sure what a archival mat is either. I should prob draw more often and know more about this, I know. I just did them as time-killers back when I had no cable TV.

1979 - 2009. A few are signed (Monster Magnet, Buckcherry). The pick was caught at a Pat Benatar show after an acoustic version of "We Live for Love." I just ordered tickets to see Kamelot in Cleveland in Sept, 2010.
