I was in Green Bay over the weekend to see the Packers lose and after we checked into our hotel we went to the only bar we could find open in down town GB. We noticed sound equipment set up and instruments and equipent on stage but figured it was from the previous night because the place was dead. But slowley people started to trickle in. One guy walks in and he was wearing a Saxon T-shirt. After about an hour the place is kinda full and the guy with the Saxon t-shirt gets on stage with the rest of a band and with out introduction they go into Crazy Train.
The lead singer nailed it and the guitar player was phenominal. After Crazy Train they introduced themselves as "Mad Racket" and played an awesome "War Pigs."
Me and my friends got crazy drunk and had a Rock n Roll party like it was 1980. The group played Iron Maiden, Blue Oyster Cult, Dokken, Scorpions, Rainbow, Dio, Rush and a lot of others. It was more fun than the Packer game!

Hello to all you hard rockin metal maniacs and thanks to Pete for the kind words about MAD RACKET. MAD RACKET was formed out of the ashes of my old band Aggressor and Antagonist who were big regionally back in the early to mid 90's. (toured with Motohead-Slayer-Overkill and many more)We came back out of retirement to keep the torch of hard rock and Metal from back in the day alive for people like all of you!! There aren't many bands that play this type of music and that is unacceptable to us. It is the music that we love and I think that does come through when we play. The gig that Pete refers to was our second show. We would love to see all the people that frequent this awesome website at our next gig on October 23rd at Players on Packerland drive out by Austin Straubel Airport. Now that I have been turned on to this website, I would like to keep in contact with all of you!! I am working on a website as well and will keep you posted. Special thanks to Pete for the kind words about the Maloneys gig and thanks to Sandi for the quick follow up and opportunity to check out rocknrolluniverse.com For more info. on MAD RACKET see the attached story from last weeks Green Bay Press Gazette Entertainment section or simply respond here as I will keep in touch with you all... Death to false metal!!

Frank, Hello thanks for the welcome. Cool to talk to a fellow bassist out there!! You know what they say: Bass players do it deeper What kind of gear do you use? I use Modulus bass guitars (quantum 5) with the bartolini pickups and the heaviest gauge piano wires I can find (GHS boomers with a .135 b. & .155 E). I like the big sound and since our guitarist doesn't like to be bothered with alot of rhythms, this allows me to fill out the sound with chords, leads and such. I use two or three Ampeg SVT bottoms, the 8/10s and ampeg preamps with slave amps for extra bottoms. Hope to hear from you soon. Dave bass & vocals MAD RACKET

I gotta make it back up to GB to see another show. My more sober friends I was with that night say your show rocked too!! but my representation of your set list is a bit off. If you remebmer it could you list it here? I know it was great I remember freakin' out everytime I recognized the song. You guys rocked and played better than the Packers that day and made our trip to GB worth while. That's all we talked about on the way home was Mad Racket. Come To Milwaukee!! Or Madison!!
