Here's a post that might get you thinking.
Consider all of the albums that you have in your collection....
Now, if you want to make a greatest "rock and roll" disc, which ones would you be able to choose to make such a disc...using only the first track from any album in your collection?
With that, I mean the first track on the disc as purchased. Not a greatest hits album either...the original from whence it came from.
Keep in mind that, you might want to pass along your personal desires and graces of the music that you love, so you just don't pick the first song from any album...instead, ones that you believe to be true to your heart and that hold water musically in your opinion.
Keep it simple and short if you'd like...doesn't have to be in alphabetical order either. Most releases contain about 10 to 12 tracks. If the songs are long, it's acceptable to allow for less...you be the judge.
I'll go first and because of my meager collection, surely to god, most folks will surpass my selections...
1. AC/DC - It's A Long Way To The Top (High Voltage)
2. BTO - Gimme Your Money Please (BTO)
3. Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic ( Toys In The Attic(
4. Elton John - Funeral For A Friend (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road)
5. Foreigner - Feels Like The First Time (Foreigner)
6. Jethro Tull - Beastie (Broadsword & The Beast)
7. Queen - Keep Yourself Alive (Queen)
8. Loverboy - The Kid Is Hot Tonight ( Loverboy)
9. Nazareth - Go Down Fighting (Loud & Proud)
10. Deep Purple - Highway Star (Machine Head)
11. Sweet - Ballroom Blitz (Desolation Boulevard)
Remember...you're making a disc that you not only want to listen to but one that you'd be able to inspire others with.
Damn!!! I forgot to include Heart!!!!...anyone?
If I get any kind of feedback, I'll shoot for "Track 2" songs.
We just might be able to compile some great songs here and also come to a conclusion...
Thanks
Kim
