By now, i think everyone has had their say on SusieQ's "Songs that sound better live" thread, so how about songs that do not sound better live. I think we all know at least a few. Some that I've noticed over the years: "Road Fever" by Blackfoot-KILLER tune off of their STRIKES album, in fact, it was the first Blackfoot tune I ever heard. When I finally got to hear their (supposedly) kick-ass live version from HIGHWAY SONG-LIVE, I kinda thought it sucked. Seemed like they played it too fast and a little bit sloppy . "Roll With The Changes" by REO Speedwagon-Awesome song, they do it ok live, but this song SCREAMS for two lead guitarists. "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money-Probably wouldn't suck half as bad if Eddie wouldn't try to hit those high, Ronnie Spector notes himself. "Cadillac Ranch" by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band-On their PLAIN DIRT FASHION album, this song shits all over the Bruce Springsteen version, but somehow loses it's power in a live setting. Others?

Well, anything from Eddie Money is going to suck, Jesse. ;D
I can think of two songs that do sound worse live than on an album..and it's Aerosmith again.
Livin' On The Edge & Janie Gotta Gun
Also ANY old Whitesnake song played by the new line up.

I've seen the Stones 4 or 5 times live, and have not been impressed. Kept going back thinking I was just seeing them on a bad night.

While I've heard this kind of quote many times, I purchased the 40 Flicks box of DVD's and find it to be amazing. Of course, I am a Srones fan anyway, but I like the raw energy of the Stones live, as sloppy as they may be.
