Kind of a tough choice, really. Each had a few really good albums...each had some crappy ones. I give the edge to Def Leppard because of the album High 'N Dry. It's one of my all time favorites.

That was easy WHITESNAKE smokes Leppard. Leppard started at the gate a smokin', but got caught up in the mix. Whitesnake has some up & down moments. Overall better player's, overall.

This is why Def Leppard gets the edge... Whitesnake's David Coverdale was old hat, vetran-for-ages before the band went to mega-popularity status. That goes for the players in that band for the most part too. They are a great band with a huge catalog of rock to prove it. However, Def Leppard's appeal is excinuated by the fact that they were an aged teen garage band that kicked butt with two outstanding unknown guitarists doing trade off leads. The songwriting was above average, cool lyrics... Songs about partying, chasing girls, and the end of the world! Ah! Ah..ah, ah...
