I've watched Gene's show a couple of times and suprisingly enjoyed it. The Osbournes on the other hand I couldn't bare to watch that crap. Family Jewels got my vote..

Family Jewels is a great show. Gene was not one of my favorites, but because of the show........he is growing on me. His family is very down to earth and appear to have their act together. His children are grounded and very mature for their ages. Great show to watch

Great show to watch I agree that the show is good....although I don't know how down to earth they are....last week the "girls" went shopping and they spent $17,000 at one store on top of that they "HIRED" some dumb fashion guy to follow them around and help them "shop". As a family unit they are pretty well grounded.......but "down to earth" I don't know.

I'll give them that they might not be "down to Earth". But...how "down to Earth" could you be as Gene Simmons' child? I've gained a new respect for Simmons by watching some of this show. I always respected his accomplishments with Kiss...even though I'm not a big fan of their music. But, I now have some respect for the man as a human being. Answer me this Speedy, if you can...why has Gene worked so hard over the years to portray himself as such an assh*le (in his public persona), when he is obviously not? Oh yeah...I voted FJ. The Osbournes helped take Ozzy from a legend...to a joke. F*ck that show.

Answer me this Speedy, if you can...why has Gene worked so hard over the years to portray himself as such an assh*le (in his public persona), when he is obviously not? Remember this is only MY OPINION as a KISS fan. Back in the 70's Gene got KISS attention by just being the DEMON. His mug was everywhere. However since they took off the make-up his image suffered. He didn't have the looks to hang in the 80's. Paul did. In order to be noticed Gene had to become an ass. It worked for the most part. He again was asked to be on talk shows and other free publicity. Now like Uncle Ted he just spouts out outrageous stuff so that he gets his face on TV or in the paper. After Monday's episode I am leaning towards him being a REAL ass. He basically treated that fan like crap. If you don't want to participate in "contests" don't do it.....don't treat the winner like a jerk. Here is what the fan had to say about his time with the $immons Family on The A&E message board. Hi All. Yes, its Bob "THE FAN". Thought I'd take a quick sec to reply here to some of these posts. As follows... VSTAX - RE my feelings hurt? Yes..they are. DALT3897 - You're clueless. INEEDSUN- Thank you very much. I wouldn't say they were "Cruel" per-sey...but the warm/fuzzy meter wasn't exactly going off the scale, or registering for that matter. You are correct (& sweet)in your posts. MARY ROSE - 100% Wrong. Gene wasn't the one 'putting up' with stuff, I was. Yes, you sign something, but you have no idea what is going to be used or to what extent or in what context. You saw 10 hours + condensed down to 15 minutes. Things are chopped up, edited, moved around, dubbed, etc...to make for good tv. The Production team was and continues to be absolutley wonderful. They did a great job. Gene however...if I seemed over the top, its because Gene hardly spoke, so I constantly had to 'draw him out'. (even more so when the cameras weren't on) Sure, he credits his fans in a general sense when the camera's on, and I will say he didn't turn down one autograph or picture request the entire day. But its a different story in a one-on-one scenario. Would I change anything? Yes. Am I still a KISS/Gene fan? Maybe...maybe not a passionately. Basically the analogy is, after 30 years of trying to get to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, someone pulled back the curtain to reveal the man pulling the strings. ( Thanks for watching! BB PS - And NO Shannon, I didn't take off my shoes! But guess what, Gene didn't take his off in my house either!
