by it's cover? Are their some BAD albums with GOOD covers and VICE VERSA? As I said on the other cover thread: sometimes you can judge a CD by it's cover. Savatage is now one omy altime favorite bands and I bought my first Savatage album having never heard a note, I just liked the cover (Hall Of The Mountain King"). Messiah Prophet is another band I bought just because it had a cool cover and I always really liked that album. The Regulators and Tatto Rodeo are 2 others I really liked after only buying their CD for it's cover. Are there some bad albums with good covers? Yeah. I had already mentioned Molly Hatchet's "Lightning Strikes Twice", also their "The Deed Is Done". Still both of them are somewhat listenable for a fan like me . Though I can't think of the titles, I know in the 80's and early 90's there were alot of Death Metal bands with cool covers, but absolutely Sh*tty music. Good albums with bad covers? there are PLENTY of them. With a few exeptions I never cared much for most Blackfoot album covers, but always enjoyed the music they contained. Same thing with Accept. Most people's (myself included) favorite AC/DC album has the lamest cover ("Back In Black"). Not a big fan of most Forienger covers either, but they were a great band IMO.

Oh, and other than the original "Street Survivors" cover, Skynyrd album covers were always kinda lame, but they contain some of the best music ever!

I remember I bought Fates Warning's 'Awaken The Guardian' when it came out soley because th ecover was awesome. This was on vinyl to, so the cover was even cooler. Fortunaltley the album was every bit as good as the cover.
Same with Fifth Angel's first album when it was rereleased on Epic records. The cover with the Angle with red eyes who looked alot like Steve Vai. That was a cool album to.
One album I never bought because the cover was so bad was the first Flotsam and Jetsam album with Newsted. Had one of the worst covers ever. Almost as bad as Fates Warning's 'Night On Brocken' album. Turned out the Flotsam and Jetsam record had some cool shit on it. I did buy their second album because it had a great cover. 'No Place For Disgrace' is a thrash metal classic.
Asia records had great covers....too bad the music was a little boring.....

I agree that Led Zeppelin album covers suck bad.
I saw some sort of documentary about 'Houses of the Holy' cover. (imo) It's one of the most pathetic...
Oh my, this show went on and on about the production. They had complete movie gear, child actors & models, and all the support people in droves with their vehicles including caterers. Geeze. What they came up with was Plant's kids on rocks in a retouched & colorized black and white photo. Dumb.
