I thought it might be fun to get people's remarks & opinions on some bands that we don't post about often. Some of these bands will be much more obscure than other ones posted on here, but in general are definitely on the rare side of things due to either being forgotten or never really had a huge audience in the first place. I'll go through each band alphabetically.
The band: Scatterbrain
Scatterbrain was a totally off the wall, out there Texas band. They were part of the funk/rock movement in the early 90's, one could almost say the funk/rock/rap movement, for the lead singer definitely rapped, but it was unlike almost any other rap. I could honestly say Scatterbrain may have single handedly founded white rap (Eh, Gads!); silly, hilarious, with a twinkling wink of an eye. Scatterbrain definitely had a sense of humor, but it was to much of a good thing, for Scatterbrain was also excellent musicians, & their off the cuff sense of humor over powered what could of been a serious contender in the funk/rock sweepstakes. Then again, I'm basing this all on "Scumboogery," the only album of theirs I own, but with song titles like "Grandma's House of Babes," "Swiss Army Girl," "Bartender," & "Big Fun,"... will... you get the point. These guys are all about a good laugh, but it undermines their serious talent, for if they don't take themselves seriously, who will?
Still it is fun, just not a lot of fun like maybe it could be?
Your thoughts?

Can't say that I know too much about them, but the 2 songs I know, I thought they were awesome. Don't Call Me Dude & I'm Not Gonna Go Down With The Ship always made me laugh.

Bought the first album on a whim and loved it, I turned a bunch of people on to them and we went to see them in a small place in NYC. Great show!
When the second album out, we were all disappointed in how lame it was.

THe second one was 'Scamboogery'...I didn't think it was bad musically....but lyrically it was sort of rehash of the first....just silly shit.
I loved 'Down With the Ships' on the first album.
Both guitar players were real good. Paul Neider and Glen Cummings
