I happened to be shopping the aisles of Amazon.com today and just happened to come across the ZZ Top "Tres Hombres" album yet again and to my surprise, found out that they have finally released the original version in all of it's glory.
As some of you may know, I have hammered the shit out of this release in past because I purchased the album which was "remastered"...PERIOD!
Well, since then, I guess they had the decency to remaster it from the "Original" tape and now have it released on cd yet again. I read the reviews and once again ordered it because from all accounts, it's the way it was meant to be.
This is not the "re-worked" version with new vocals and "synth drum", but the real deal from the day in which it was recorded.
Available from Amazon.com for $14.98. Good deal in my opinion for an album of this calibre. Apparently, the album "Tejas" is offered up in the same fashion after so many grievances directed towards the group and folks responsible for making such a mockery of the original album the first time around.
If anyone is interested, check out the review for the original rating of the release at Amazon.com...my review is now on top of the list
of reasons why "not to buy the album"...hahaha. Finally, 31 people out of 31 deemed it helpfull!!! I guess that helps Amazon.com sell more stock as well???...ah well, as long as they heard my lament...hahahaha
Don't purchase it yet though...wait till I get the chance to give er a listen...just in case there's a problem...I'd hate to see people getting burned like I did the first time...I'll let you know once I receive the album. If it is the real deal,...does anyone wanna buy the first version I bought???...hahahahaha...seriously, I'm gonna make a frisbee outta the bastard!!! hahahaha!!!! Nobody should pay for the original travesty!!!
I'll keep ya updated!
Thanks
Kim
