Y'now, for Father's Day I'd buy my dad a ticket to see Johnny Cash and I'd somehow sneak into the venue hehe. I grew up hearing Johnny constantly playing in the house and he's one of my dad's fave. So yeah, the Man in Black.

Don't let Dave and Eddie hear you say that. If they could get everybody to pay $500 bucks a seat, they might just do it.

$500! FIVE HUNDRED SMACKERS? Are you nuts? Yes!!! I'm certified!...I have the papers to prove it!!!!!...hahahaha. The point of this thread was to see just what folks here felt was important to them in terms of music. What it was they would like to see if given the chance...for a set price of $500.00. It's really not that outrageous to think that a person would pay this sum of money to see a performance that is that important to them in doing so...regardless of the time frame or artist mentioned. Besides...what the hell is $500.00 worth anyway???...half a months mortgage?...a car payment???...hell...that can be pissed against a wall on any given night in Vegas even if yer not a betting man!!! We have all, at one time or another paid good money to witness performances, only to later feel that we were let down, or were in attendance of concerts that left a bit to be desired...but bottom line, we made the choice...paid the dues and accepted the performance as it was given. However, many of the gigs attended were worthy if not only memorable experiences for those in attendance, but for those that wished that they would have attended as well. For the most part, if we were to take a poll here...I'm sure that most have gotten their money's worth over the years and are glad they made the choice they did in spending the money for concerts attended. Overall, my point was, and is...money really is no object when it comes to seeing the artists that have been part and parcel in contributing to the music that we have all come to know and appreciate over the many years that rock and roll has ruled. I fully understand, there are those here that may not be able to justify a sum of "$500.00" for any group, regardless of the date, age and prolific nature regarding their music...but there are also many of us that would have given our friggn' eye teeth just to see a young EVH during his earlier days...a fledgling group such as The Beatles in 64-65 trying to make a name for themselves...to witness Freddie Mercury professing the virtue of the groups music...witnessing the greatness of Zep performing "Stairway To Heaven" along with other tracks in their voluminous collection...all during the actual time and day in which they were credited for. I also want to say that this isn't about taking in a Stones concert by any means, but a group of any greatness these days. Even ones that are up and coming. The point was and is...see them while you can...enjoy them for who they are, regardless of the price. If you are a fan, check them out...someday they may not be around to enjoy and in some cases, the chance will never again be had. Hammer The Rolling Stones all you want now...but in 20 years, The Rolling Stones will not be available for "hammering", at least live anyway...and then...we'll hear the "boo hooing"...we wanna see the Stones!!!! wahhhhhhhhh!!! hahaha. This is also why I can't concede to some groups that have all of their respective members intact, only to deny not only themselves but the rest of the world of their musical gifts, simply because of their trivial crap and bullshit. Put it aside and get on with it...life is too short...and once it's gone, so are the chances at ever bringing the memorable times back. Thanks Kim
