Okay, call it a "pop" album if you will, but don't try and tell me that listening to some of this music wasn't spent doing some "close" dancing during yer high school days...cuz I won't believe it for a second!!!...errrr at least if you are in my age bracket...cough cough...hack...wheeeeeeze!!
Here's an album that was regarded as the quintessential and essential Wings album required in any collection. The thing stands the test of time for many reasons...ones that I'll leave for the rest of you to attest to.
The women out there know what I'm talking about...an album that had the magic to turn yer guy into mush all the while as he and you seduced each other...wonderfull harmonies, excellent percussion, beautiful vocals and haunting lyrics to boot...all combined to make for one of the best post "Beatle" performances by far.
If "Let ME Roll It" isn't responsible for many a child being named "Jet", I don't know where the damned name came from???...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
The prophetic "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five" still haunts me to this day in its scope and possibility of what came to pass...(if Paul only knew when he wrote the song)...
Mrs. Vandebilt is a great song in it's it's simple ditty approach and great charm beat wise.
Not a clunker on the disc unless yer not a fan of the laid back approach in "Picasso's Last Words"...and all I can say about that is that, the more you listen to it...the more it grows on a person. Simply put...standing in the elevator...would you rather hear this one or whatshisface's "You're Beautiful"?ARGHHHHH...I rest my case.
Also interesting to note...track 7 is listed as "No Words" and then cuts into "Helen Wheels"...which is not listed on the liner notes! It's like they forgot to mention that one? Track 8 is listed as "Picasso's Last Words"...
9 tracks mentioned and yet there are 10 on the album...cool eh???
Worthy of classic rock status right there fer sure...hahahahahahahahaha!...and no worries, I did include it for voting purposes just in case anyone feels the urge to slam the ole Kimbaman... ;D
In my opinion, an album that truly deserves at least a 9 out of 10...Paul gave it his all on this one!
In closing...I would like to apologize for yet another dreaded "poll"...but c'mon kids...isn't it great to get the chance to vote for a favourite song from such a great album?...ahhh...I just can't myself...I love the classics...
If need be...let me know if this poll drags down a more worthy thread...I'll do my best to help bring it (the worthier thread) back to the forefront for everyone...it's the least I can do...
Thanks
Kim
