I know we have had similar posts about this, but we never really took it to the next stage...and that is... What was it you would have liked to have seen instead on the cover? Not only to enhance the looks of the damn thing but to punch up the image to maybe help further promote the album and exemplify what the contents had to say to begin with? By all means...include artwork...hahahahahahahahahahaha...(not that I expect to see that, for this is no easy task to do so)...hahaha...a verbal explanation will suffice... Some of the artists and their agents have "cheaped out" so to speak over the years however and I think they could have spent a few more bucks on visually promoting their so called "masterpiece"...after all music is art! Any thoughts? By all means...give er on "The White Album" ;D Thanks Kim

I have no artwork to offer...just a few complaints...
What was up with Metallica's 'Black Album' cover? They threw that stupid snake in the corner that had no relevance to anything just so it would not be exactly like Spinal Tap. They should have been more creative than that....but that was the beginning of the end for that band anyway. Helloween's 'Keeper Of the Seven Keys Part 2' was good except for the badly drawn goblin hand that looked like it was drawn in 5th grade art class. ....will probably think of more later...

;D I’ve got opinions! HA! Black Sabbath’s Born Again is atrocious. Conceptually difficult to look at and excuted poorly. It’s ugly! Riot has a serious mascot problem. The axe welding chipmunk is retarded. Rock City is a piss poor composition too, done in the old days of airbrush work. The artist learned how to dink around with airbrush on Riot’s time apparently. Rock City is pathetic. Rob Zombie all his albums are decorated like corn choked turds. The ‘anti-production’ on the art with scribbles and tape on everything, is a monumental reminder of why all those things are avoided in the graphics world. It looks like stinky trash. Rob needs to keep his doodles for himself. He could possibly market them to his fans when his music talent dries out.

Pink Floyd has some of the best Album covers ever made and than there's this one. They should've stayed with Storm Thorgerson.

I actually liked Sabbath's 'Born Again' cover because it was disturbing. Even the color scheme was disturbing. I remember it freaked me out as a kid when it first came out. Kind of like the inside gatefold to 'We Sold Our Souls For Rock n' Roll'.
I really liked Judas Priest's cover for 'Defenders Of The Faith' as a kid...but if you really look at it now it's sort of stupid....
I also agree on the Riot thing. 'Fire Down Under' is a great album....but what the hell is up with that cover?

Pink Floyd's Final Cut is, to me anyway, a good and striking cover. The medal ribbons fit with the subject matter...and I'm sure they have some kind of significance.
Judas Priest's album covers were generally good until Point Of Entry and then got steadily worse. Screaming... and Defenders... I think [amd thought at the time] are terrible.
In fact I don't like any of those kinds of covers. Y&T's Black Tiger is bad and In Rock We Trust is even worse. Mean Streak is good though.
Riot...... yeah, superb band but those early covers are hideous. Restless Breed got it half right though, a furthering of the concept but Rock City and Narita are woeful.

I see there was mention of a previous Lard Ass alBUM cover here and I felt it only right that I set the record straight. None of the members of the group Lard Ass sanctioned or agreed to the covers indicated above. I would like to point out that the group goes back many years and in the early days found ourselves having little choice but to take matters into our own hands as we didn't have the funding back then to afford the high priced, ad agency style covers that proliferated the music stores of the day. Being as I was a Graphic Design student in college, it was only logical that we use what little skills I had at the time in coming up with an image that would promote our music back then. The following is an example of 2 covers that we had considered at the time and unfortunately, they never saw the light of day. The photo's were taken by "yours truly" back in the late 70's during various photo shoots and combined with simple, yet effective typography to help promote an otherwise unheard of band at the time. Enjoy... ;D Thanks Kim

Accept's "Balls To The Wall" album cover. I'd change it to something a little less gay. ;D

The Judas Priest cover for Point of Entry not good but, Screaming For Vengence are damn good. Kinda like wicked Peter Max...

Frontiers - Journey
Absolutely hideous cover. Terrible...and considering how striking Escape's cover art was I have never understood why they went with that crap.
