HOLY CRAP! Just watched the show, WOW that was awesome! How awesome was the Foo Fighters with Queen?! How awesome was Judas Priest?! How awesome was Rob Zombie, Slash, Tommy Lee, Scott Ian & Gilby Clarke?! How awesome was it that ACE FREHLEY joined them onstage?! ....and how awesome was KISS?! Foo Fighters rock hard and do nothing half-assed. They are true fans of the classic and legendary bands and that's just one of the things I love about them. Some of the highlights for me: *The 3 drummers (Roger Taylor, Taylor Hawkins & Dave Grohl) doing We Will Rock You was a real treat, I could watch that over and over. *Queen+Paul Rodgers+Foo Fighters performing We Are The Champions nearly brought tears to my eyes! *The Metal Gods, Judas Priest! *The aforementioned supergroup performing God of Thunder. *And of course, KISS! What did you think of Def Leppard? I thought they were okay, but Joe Elliot walking around the stage with his arms wide open reminds me too much of Michael Jackson. And why were the All-American Rejects there? And who are they? They looked like high school weenies that literally just rolled out of bed. I've heard better singers at a drunken karaoke bar. Anyhoo.......Congratulations to Queen, Judas Priest, Def Leppard and KISS! Unlike the so-called Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, The Rock Honors obviously "gets it". Kudos to VH-1.

Kiss did DETROIT ROCK CITY and LOVE GUN, 2 of my all-time fav songs by them. Black Diamond is my favorite KISS song.

I actually liked Def Leppard's cover of the T.Rex tune 20th Century Boy.....thought they did a great job on it. I personally didn't like Paul Rodgers with Queen, but it is probably just me, nobody can replace Freddy KISS did a great job, not a big KISS fan, but I enjoyed their performance, just wish Gene would keep that tongue to himself ;D I had nightmares about it. ;D All in all, a great show, I really enjoyed it, the only crappy performance was the All American Rejects........they sounded off key during much of their performance. VH1 did a great job

I thought the program was entertaining overall. I thought the Foos did ok. I thought Paul Rogers did well with QUEEN. I don't know if I like his voice with the music BUT.....there are very few singers on this earth that could pull that stuff off and not be a Freddie clone. I like the fact that Paul doesn't try to be Freddie.
GODSMACK is not Judas Priest.....however they seemed to be into it. PRIEST hammered. I wish they had played something a little more adventurous....but oh well. I can alwyas go to their shows.
I thought the REJECTS were ok. Played pretty well for a punk band. LEPPARD sounded ok musically......Joe Elliot was terrible on ROA IMO. He couldn't hit crap. Awful. 20th Century Boy did sound good.....however any guy who played guitar for five minutes can play that tune.....and the vocals are no real struggle. Worst band of the night IMO.
ALL STAR BAND on God of Thunder was great. ACE was cool as usual. That blue ACE Les Paul was KILLER. They all just came out and kicked ass. Best band of the night IMO. Scott Ian was hilarious and truly seemed to be having a blast. It was great to see ACE looking fit and healthy. I hope he can continue as he is the reason I play guitar.
The KISS Tribute band was pretty good. Paul Stanley still can sing. Too bad he thinks he has to show it by OVERsinging. "Oh my God no time to towyatowaytowayowaoioioioioioioioioion!" Geno's bass dominated and he played some free form like the old days. He was ON! Say what you want about the man but he can play. Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer played their parts adequately....that's all I can say about that. Singer is 2000000000000 times better than he is playing now. I wish they would let him play the tunes the way HE wants like he did in the REVENGE era. Tommy Thayer is a nice guy, a good player, he is NOT the SPACEMAN. There are at least 3 guys I know that would be better ACE impersonators......and that's all TT is doing.
The show was a lot of fun. I hope they do some more metal type programming.

I agree, and what is funny is they only practiced like 10 minutes before performing ;D The other performers practiced for days ;D
