This is a thread posted for anyone that may want to take a few minutes to list just what they would like to see played at the next social gathering.
Trust me, this could be helpfull for many of us here.
The reason I mention this is because I was recently asked to provide a list of "older music/dance tunes".
It was because of my ridiculous attempt to provide the d.j. at the annual Christmas Party with a list of songs which I thought they should consider playing that I am being asked for this.
It's gotten to the point where the usual guy now waits for me to come through the door and then asks me for the damn list...hahahahaha..
Seriously, the guy knows his s**t, but respects my tastes and selections that I have taken the time to print out for him and uses it to better his "play list"...that is, if he has the music on my list...hahaha.
It all started about 4 or 5 years ago...and I wrote down as many songs as I could on a table napkin...handed it to him and he was impressed.
The following year, I came in with a printed sheet...about 6 pages of requests...as of last years' party I was up to 11 pages...(and thanks to some of you folks here for the tunes by the way).
I have to also confess...last years' dance was by far the best!!! They even played some Status Quo...(I wonder how that happened???)...hahaha
Hey!!!! the dance floor was packed as Quo's version of Cadillac Ranch blared out from the speakers!!!! hahahahahahaha
This summer we are invited to a 50th Birthday party for 2 of our good friends.
Whats a good list of tunes to play? We need dance stuff. Keep in mind that there will be some of the younger crowd there...but overall...it's an "old foggie" event so we'll need stuff like Born To Be WIld and that sort of thing...hahahaha
Any thoughts?
I don't expect many responses to this thread by the way...but in doing so by posting this...just may be fodder for your next big event?
Bottom line as well...I'm not asking this for me...instead...asking for some input for all of us here...if you have a minute...great!!!...if not...no worries.
Thanks
Kim
