HEYYYYYY!!!!! Put me down!!! I'ma skeered of heights!!!! hahaha.
Just for that...I'm going to host a party and all the karma you can handle will be served up for free!!!!...PLUS!!! I saved up all my beer cans and the beer will be free too!!!
I'll even make some beef jerky and promise not to play any ABBA tunes!!!!...
...howz that sound folks?
??
Seriously, I'm glad my thread was taken in jest...and although I appreciate and humbly accept the nods, I know that everyone here on this great board realizes that "points" whether good or bad doesn't matter at the end of the day.
It's all about the folks that belong to this great site and what they have to say in support of this site that truly matters.
It takes a big person to spend the kind of time here like those that I see eloquently passing along their thoughts on their favourite groups and artists...and also,...having the decency to respect and acknowledged their fellow members by commenting on what others have to say, whether it's in agreement or even a respective way in terms of differing opinions.
The support of so many of the members here is what is all important collectively.
Of course we are not all in agreement as to specific music. It would be senseless if it was?
Overall, however, we seem to find a common ground...one that relates to and respects music of all genres over the years and just as importantly, like Rik mentioned in a previous thread...the new music that is front and centre these days.
Rik made a great point in his thread and in my opinion speaks volumes. The members of this site are proof in backing up what he said as well through their contributions...boy, I sure have learned a lot from being here!!!
For what it's worth, I can't recall hitting the "smite" button on anyone? If I did,...I do apologize...it must have been by mistake.
The only button I do prefer to hit is the other...simply because everyone here deserves praise for their knowledge, appreciation and respect of music and our fellow posters here on this site.
I'll give you a fine example...
Today, I spent a little time at The Official Status Quo site. Not sure about the rest of the gang here and not sure if they have an official site to go to for their favourite group, but I have to say...that one needs a bit of work. Great site, lots of info, but in terms of its Message Board...leaves a lot to be desired.
Here you will find a lot of people calling a lot of it's members down to the dirt...simply because of an inherent post or so...or simply because of a comment taken out of context.
You certainly won't find my name in the members board and I as much as I love the group, can't ever see myself making a statement there one way or another ever. It seems to me that from what I read, it doesn't matter what you say, someone, somewhere will take offense and come out "guns a blazzin"!!! One "reg" actually mentioned and stood by his comment on the fact that Francis Rossi should retire (in favour of Alan Lancaster and John Couhglan)...
...errrrr okay, that's like asking Steven Tyler to retire from Aerosmith...(you get the picture).
My point is...here...this is something we don't have to waste our energies on...everything seems to be upbeat and on a positive note. Perhaps this is why this site gets mentioned by a venue such as VH1?
Exaltations are a bonus...it's like a pat on the back for something said and related to...a case of agreement on a select topic. Also, however, being "smitten" is also a recognition of those that have witnesses and read what others have had to say about a certain issue...doesn't mean that they are wrong...simply means that another may not be in agreement...still, it can be deemed as one who's point was acknowledged...that's cool too!
In response to those that took the time to make a sad man feel better...hahahahahahahaha...
Hahahahahaha...reading stuff like this kills me! MrAce couldn't have put it better!!! When I read that,...beer squirted out my nose!!! ;D
Rush...it's nice to see a fellow Canuck standing up for one of our own...(by the way, this summer, the Subs are on me...
).
Kinda like playin' "craps"...the more ya shake, the more money you can make some times??? Bahama
YES!!! Sandi did smite me but it's okay, we have an agreement...she smites me and I exalt her...I'm just kinda kinky that way...grrrr grrrrr.....
Okay...done deal...actually, I sent you $500.00 to keep it quiet that you "knocked me up"!!! Doh!!!!!
I'll certainly take that as a compliment!
Uncle Ted, it makes the world of difference just knowing that there's people like yourself out there that actually have the patience to listen to the stuff I tend to go on about at times.
Define "norm". I'm thinking that if myself or any other member here FedXd' some Avril Lavigne or Bon Jovi albums to you over night...then that would be considered a "smite"...however...if any of us here invited you out for a brewskie regardless of when you showed up...that would then be an "exhalt", slap on the back and we'd even play yer favourite tune!...hahahaha...either way, it would be a good thing??? hahahahahahahahaha.
This is true Nightwatcher...the great thing is...it's kinda like havin' yer mom slap a bandaid on yer cut finger and telling you everythings gonna be okay after whining about it...hahaha.
I think I've surpassed that point and entered into the realm of sickness...(works for me though...hahahahaha).
This is one reason why Warpig will find a little extra under the tree at Christmas time each and every year from now on!
Seriously, I get my "karma" just by listening to you folks. My credo has always been and always shall be..." I know shit from puddin"...and thanks to you kids, the puddin's getting easier to stir and enjoy because of all of you!
!
Thanks
Kim
