I can fully appreciate the heat that this album produced upon it's debut into the musical market of the day back in the late 70's. Most were clinging to the last melodys of Zep and Sabbath and had figured they had won the war against Disco and all the damage it had inflicted upon pure rock and roll. Then comes an album such as this...not punk...not disco...but a style of music classified as "new wave"... Society wasn't ready for this curve ball...and this brand kinda took us by storm. Arguements went long into the night as to whether it was worthy of rock status or simply be piled on top of it's Disco and Punk predecessors. Fortunately for "The Cars", the style stayed the course, and if only for a few short years...proved one thing...this was a style all unto it's own and The Cars proved just that with this album. Ask anyone where they were in 1979/80...ask them to name a song that personifies that time in their life...chances are...they'll tell you that they were letting "The Good Times Roll"... Thanks Kim

A lot of good songs on this album but Moving In Stereo does it for me. I didn't discover this song until way after the album came out.

Another that's good across the board, kim... making me think, and that's dangerous.
I was leaning towards Moving in Stereo, or You're all I've got tonight/Bye Bye Love combo (I love it when they play them together....
But I went with Don'tcha Stop. I'll take the tune about oral sex every time.
right here I'd like to melt inside of you right here you kiss is totally new right here your hands are soft and creamy right here your mouth is wet and dreamy
and it's just what I like so dim down the light (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) if it makes you feel good (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop)
your rhapsody is blowing my cool-ool your fantasies there written for fools your long black hair tickles my skin skin it feels so luscious come on do it again, oh yeah
and it's just what I like dim down the light (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) if it makes you feel good (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) if it makes you feel good (don't cha stop don't cha stop) (don't cha stop don't cha stop) if it makes you feel good, good, good, good, good don't cha stop don't cha stop

All mixed up! I lived in a old farm house then, And with a heavy duty hand stapler, I carpeted 2 large rooms with pieces of rejected carpet, I would cut into shapes, or they seemed to shape themselves. It was BAD. To this day I wonder what the next renters thought!

My Best Friend's Girl. The rockabilly solo really shows off Elliot Easton's versitility.
