This one's for you HiFi...hahahaha
Probably not on the top of your list, but still a true Queen classic in my opinion and what better way to start than from the start?
Thanks Kim

I like listening to this album as a whole but if I had to choose 1 song it would be Keep Yourself Alive

Liar...but I love the whole album...hard to pick 1 tune.
I also love the Queen II album...probably more than this one actually...very underrated.

Good Queen album, not the best mind you. Keep yourself alive.

Seven Seas of Rhye, although it's a great album as a whole.

This is one of those albums I used to put on and play along with straight through. Suffice it to say I know every nuance of Brian May's work on this album. For me, the song that just is head and shoulders above the rest on this one is "Doin' Alright," although I actually prefer the version on "Live at the BBC" to the one on this album.

Thanks, Kim!
Up until Hot Space as far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as a bad QUEEN album! I don't listen to the s/t first album as much as the other 70's QUEEN albums but I still like it.
Definitely Keep Yourself Alive. Total QUEEN and rock classic IMO.
Sometimes though the song gets to me 'cause I end up thinking, dammit Freddie, you didn't ...

I am stunned to finally have found a forum where people appreciate this album as much as I do. Show of hands: who's got the LP?

I bought it used forever ago ... The only QUEEN LP I have I didn't buy new. The record itself is in nice shape though and that's the important thing!

Anyone listen to David Lee Roth this morning? He spent a segment talking about this album.

I was lucky enough to pick this album up around 1987 on cd. Back then, cd's were hard to come by, especially "original" releases. The one I have is a true import and was purchased in Toronto way back then. It actually has the "pound" symbol for pricing...says "7.99". I recall paying something like $13.00 for it because at the time there were few people looking for originals. Taped music seemed to still be the way of going?...hahahahaha Not remastered, all original and all great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an album!!! I have to admit, even with the 8 track version...Great King Rat is still my all time favorite! What a range...what a great tune!!! Totally kicks!!!!!!!!!!!!! The break is great as you get the chance to hear Freddie for the first time...belt it out...go into a break, then energetically kick back into what I perceive to be one of the greatest rock and roll tunes of all time!.....Show Me!!!!...little bit of hand clapping...then the crescendo and then the finale!...Would ya like to seeeeeeeee? !!!!!! I'll admit, there may be fans that prefer later releases...but this one to me is a diamond in the rough and requires no polishing whatsoever. This is true Queen at their unadulterated best. No tricks, no gimmicks, no pretense...just a group that knew what they wanted to do and proved it by doing so in their first outing. As religious as it may come off sounding, I also love the song "Jesus". Very powerfull to the point of almost making me a believer...(not quite though)...hahaha. Guess I just like the beat and Freddies vocals. Thanks Kim
