In postings on both bassist Eric Czar and drummer Kenny Kramme's official websites it appears that the rhythm section have left the Joe Bonamassa Band :
THE END OF AN ERA
The great rhythm section of Kenny Kramme and Eric Czar will no longer perform with Joe Bonamassa.
Kenny and Eric have loved getting to know so many of you great fans over the past five years of dedicated touring. They both look forward to seeing you all again in new capacities.
We hope you’ve all enjoyed what was a great band.
All the best,
Your rhythm section

Probably because nobody knows of this guy. My brother saw him open up for some big name rock band out in the New York area a few years ago and said he was great, so i got online and looked up his music, did nothing for me at all.

This is where I'm going to have to respectfully disagree about nobody knowing about Joe. He just completed a sold out tour with B.B. King, has hit #1 on Billboard's Blues charts with his last 2 albums, and is an in demand for sessions as well, as he's played on 2 Joe Lynn Turner albums, Ozzy's latest "Under Covers" album, and is featured on a track on Les Paul's new album, which also includes appearances by Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons,Joe Perry, Keith Richards etc. Also named Blueswax(one of the biggest blues based publications in the world) Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year for 2004, 1st time in the history of that publication), as well as being picked as one of Guitar One magazine's Top 10 New Guitar Heroes in a cover story a couple of years ago. So people do know of Joe. As for not liking his music, that's a matter of personal preference, but for my money, Bonamassa is one of the best guitarists to hit the scene in years, and if you see him live he's friggin' amazing

I'm a little confused as to whether the decision was Joe's or theirs ? The statement on his site makes it sound like it was his decision. Really strange considering he was supposed to be in the studio and putting out new stuff early next year.

From Joe's website:
After four amazing years and countless gigs, Kenny Kramme and Eric Czar will be leaving the band. I have enjoyed working with Kenny and Eric and have great respect for them as musicians and professionals -- and, of course, as friends. I wish them success in their new endeavors and look forward to opportunities to work with them again. As far as the new band is concerned for the upcoming tour, Bogie Bowles (Kenny Wayne Shepard) and Mark Epstein (Johnny Winter) will be playing with me. For the new recording, Jason Bonham and Carmine Rojas will join me in the studio. All four men are exceptional musicians, and I am very excited to see where it leads musically. I know these changes took everyone by surprise, but these were changes I needed to make at this point in my life and career. Sincerely, Joe Bonamassa

To be really honest i haven't heard that much of his music but what i heard didn't "grab" my attention, but maybe i should give it another try and re-check him out. Who knows, maybe i will think different this time, it's happened before. Whether i like or dislike a band/artist, it's people like you guys who are so passionate about a musician that peaks my interest and makes me wanna check em out or in this case go back and re-check em out. Thanks for your honest opinons guys, that;s why this place is sooo cool. We can all "politley" disagree on stuff without any name calling. Just makes me like this place 'even" more
