Well I'm mostly recovered from the Crue show. First of all Silvertide's short 30 min. set kicked all kinds of ass! If you remotely like their CD Show & Tell you'd be blown away by their live show. If Silvertide ever make it big Walt Lafty will go down as one of the greatest front men ever! ... It's not just hyperbole this kid can fuckin' rock! Nick Perri on lead guitar and the rest of Silvertide bring it too and just sound fantastic. If they don't make it big it's the world's loss. If you get the chance even to just see them open for someone go see them! You won't be disappointed. After their set I went to the Merchandise booth and got my American Excess EP signed.
The exies where next and they got the biggest round of applause when the lead singer said he was from the area. Other than that they where forgettable.
Sum 41 was a pleasant surprise. I'm not really into that style of music but they do it well and their set was fun. The guitar player did Eruption better than Eddie on the last VH tour.
Motley Crue has improved since the beginning of the tour when I saw them last. If you don't like them to begin with you probably wouldn't change your mind but Motely Crue fans should be pleased. Vince sang most of the lyrics and wasn't nearly as out of breath. Mick actually walked around quite a bit. At one point he even managed to get on the drum riser and hop off. Their overall sound was a lot tighter and although the use of re verb and echo on Vince's voice was obvious I think the backing tapes where used less. All in all Crue did a pretty good job and had the crowd whipped into a frenzy chanting Crue...Crue... Crue... Crue... for a good 3 or 4 minutes after the final encore.
