Don't know why this thought entered my brain, but are there any Top 40 cover bands in your area? How about "New Rock" cover bands? Seemed like the '80's and into the early-mid '90's "Top 40" cover bands were a big thing. Mid '90's til maybe 2007-08 bands covering only "New Rock" or "Modern Rock" were a big thing. Now everyone in my area is going back to the Classic Rock smorgasbord with some '80's rock standards and a few of the '90's and early 2000' hits. MAYBE, a new Rock song or two snuck into one of their 3 hour-long sets, usually not. More likely a new Country song than a Rock song. Is this the same in anyone else's area (Duojett)? Not sure if this phenomenon is totally because new music has sucked the last 10-15 years (or more!) or that cover bands are just getting lazy and only want to play the "gimmies" (songs everyone on the planet is gonna know and dance to.)
I don't know, thought it would make for a good topic of discussion...…. maybe even get some new people interested :/
