1 You're The One Greta Van Fleet
2 When The Seasons Change Five Finger Death Punch 3 A Reason To Fight Disturbed 4 Right Left Wrong Three Days Grace 5 Do Your Worst Rival Sons
6 Be Legendary Pop Evil
7 Heroin Badflower
8 S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun) The Glorious Sons 9 Cross Off Mark Morton Featuring Chester Bennington
10 Tourniquet Breaking Benjamin
So, here's the Mainstream Rock Top 10 for the week of March 23rd, 2019. Everyone be bitching about Greta Van Fleet, but they are pretty much the most listenable song on this list. (and it's not even one of their better songs IMO). A few others are ok, 1 or 2 are completely unlistenable to my ears. But there's a sort of sameness to many of them that nobody is bitching about. I guess it's ok to sound like other artists hitting the charts concurrently, but not ok to sound like Led Zeppelin. Ok.

I don't think I have heard any of this stuff....although I am interested in hearing Mark Morton's solo album. So Mark went mainstream hard rock for his solo album? That has me very curious. Incredible guitar player.

Incredible guitar player. If I remember correctly, that song was more what I would call Metal than Mainstream Rock. I never heard of most of this stuff either. I just wanted to check out what other hit music was out there that was so good. You know, since folks keep telling me how much Greta Van Fleet sucks.

I don't mind Greta von Fleet... Five Finger Death Punch is a pretty cool band but haven't heard their latest... I never really cared much for Disturbed or Three Days Grace...

I don't mind Greta von Fleet... Five Finger Death Punch is a pretty cool band but haven't heard their latest... I never really cared much for Disturbed or Three Days Grace... Yeah, I never really got the hate for Greta Van Fleet. Don't like 'em, don't listen to them, but there's a helluva lot of people on the internet who HATE them and trash them and anyone who likes them any chance they get. So, this thread was basically just me looking to see what other great music there was hitting the charts that should be getting the attention that GVF is. I'm not finding it. The Five Finger Death Punch song was decent. I was surprised how good the songs by Disturbed and Three Days Grace were. Rival Sons was ok. Badflower was total shit. The Mark Morton and Breaking Benjamin songs were ok, but more Metal than Mainstream Rock. And that kinda left the Greta Van Fleet song as the best of the bunch IMO if only by default. I dunno, the more people tell me to hate this band, the more I listen to them critically and actually sorta dig 'em. I have a theory as to why so many music fans, so many Classic Rock fans, so many people who usually know great music when they hear it, HATE Greta Van Fleet. It's a long and complicated theory and I'm still working on it, but I will post it when it's done.

I look forward to reading your theory.... I seen one young band a couple of years ago either opening for Billy Idol or Bad Co. (can’t remember which one) Anyway they were Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown and I was hoping they’d make it....Brad Whitford Of Aerosmith’s son is in the band and they had a cool sound...

Breaking Benjamin is my favourite band of 90s. They had so many hit songs! The ones I remember are 'The Diary of Jane', 'Tourniquet' and, of course their hit 'So Cold'. These are real masterpieces, not garbage like today! And it is sooo good that they have a tour in 2019! And I'm going to visit Breaking Benjamin concert in 2019. The concert setlist is here: Breaking Benjamin tour 2019. Open the page and maybe we can even visit one of the Benjamin's together!
