Kansas not Pink Floyd. What a great friggin' song! Working on learning to play it. It's complicated, but not impossible. Lotta chord changes and some incredible vocals! I'm never gonna sound like Steve Walsh, but I like to push myself, I find that it helps me sing songs within my range a lot better and easier. Anyhow, just wanted to say what a great song this is and by learning to play it, one can really appreciate what Kansas were doing. Don't know why "The Wall" isn't played on Classic Rock radio at least as much as "Point Of No Return" or "Dust In The Wind".

My favorite off that album is "Magnum Opus" which is made up of several movements and has this killer sounding bass solo in the first section. Some great guitar work as well. 'Leftoverture' is such a great album. "What's On My Mind" is another great track.....but the whole album is amazing. By far my favorite Kansas record.

"What's On My Mind" is great too, as is "Miracles Out Of Nowhere" and.... well, like you said, the whole album! "The Wall" just really does it for me though. Love it. If you know any tricks towards playing and/or singing it, I'd love the advice

Great friggin' song is right!!! The Wall is phenomenal! I like a lot of Kansas... Check out youtube for Stay out of Trouble off of Monolith...Not that it's like the Wall but I do like the tune I always liked "Monolith" as well. Thought it was a very underrated album. Haven't heard it in a while though, can't recall "Stay Out Of Trouble" offhand. My favorites from that one were "People Of The South Wind" and "Angels Have Fallen".

I need to break it out and play it again. I remember it being more mellow and proggy than 'Leftoverture' and 'Point Of Know Return'.....I mean those two albums were very prog oriented as well but the songs on 'Monolith' seemed less memorable.....but i have not listened to it in many years. I know at the time it was released the critics panned it.....for whatever thats worth. I do remember thinking it was a good album....it just never blew me away.

Those were both better albums and I guess, in comparison, "Monolith" was a disappointment, but that doesn't mean there wasn't some good stuff on it. "Angels Have Fallen" definitely would've fit in with the material on those records.
