I thought of this when listening to Kiss' "Black Diamond". Great song, but I hate the ending. It was neat the first time I heard it, but now I've come to realize that it is too long and drawn out. I guess that's what they were going for, but it kinda ruins the rest of the song for me.
Another one is Gamma Ray's "Heading For Tomorrow" The guitar solo in the middle, again, is too long, drawn out and, well, boring. The song would be twice as good if it cut that solo out. Would still be about a 9 or 10 minute song.
Here's a Country one for ya: Mickey Gilley's "I'm The One Mama Warned You About". Kick-ass barroom Country song ruined by corny, "Hee-Haw Honeys" backing vocals.

Nice thread Jesse...I am going to have to think about this one. I know there are songs which I wish were longer or had an extra verse or chorus in them. Van Halen's "House of Pain" comes to mind. I wish there was another verse and chorus in that one. All the parts in that song are cool though. I will get back to you on this one....

haha.....sorry....I was actually in Peru for 3 weeks. I had my computer but wasn't on it that much. I have been thinking about this thread though.....the one song that comes to mind is the Sabbath song "All Moving Parts(Stand Still)" off 'Technical Ecstasy'.....the song starts out killer....with a badass groove....and then this bridge section kind of comes out of nowhere and kind of kills the vibe. Fortunately it goes back to that initial verse section but the rest of the song just sounds thrown together and the song as a whole has no continuity. The last half of "Dirty Women" off the same album is kind of similar. First half of the song is great and then at the end it switches gears and isn't as cool.....and then it just goes on for too long...
