They're probably not that popular around here but,
"My Old School" is one of Steely Dan's popular tunes. Admittedly, I like Steely Dan.
"Maggie Mae" , is indirectly about school, as we learn a bit of the story in the first verse that the kid is skipping school to get jiggy with an older lady. He, he. he...

"My Old School" is in fact one Steely Dan's more popular tracks, yet sadly never received the accolades that it was promised back in the day? Underrated?...yeah, I would have to say so. Ahead of it's time?...yeah I'd have to say that too.
Good call on that track Trexx!
Spacel0rd mentioned one thought that stands out for me on a personal level and that is "School".
For me, it works on so many levels, almost to the absolute surreal. I remember walking to school as a 5 year old...and turning around when I got to the end of the street...only to see my mom "waving" at me, as I turned the corner, when she could no longer see me. Years later, as a 17 year old high school student, and as the bus would pick us up, just outside our window...she would still "wave" at me...and yes...I would wave back, albeit in a more nonchalant, embarrassed way...........
It's funny...but as I listen to the song these days...the one thing about it comes to mind...and that is...I would give anything to see her in that window again...and "wave" to her just one more time...............
Thanks Kim
