Back in the early to mid 80s there was a syndicated show that used to come on Sunday Afternoons. It was a music Trivia gameshow hosted by Bowzer of Sha Na Na. It was called the Pop āNā Rocker Gameshow and I used to love it. Well I went digging around on Youtube and found this archive. I still remember seeing this episode live. It was the first time I ever saw Motley Crue.

HA! No tattoos yet! Thanks for sharing, Spacel0rd. Interesting indeed. My first time was at the 1983 US Festival in Glenn Helen Park, CA. They weren't on the bill. The Motels cancelled and Motely Crue were the "local-band-fill-in". They had those same outfits but their hair was a bit higher. From were I was standing they appeared as Luxemburg Palace Guards with those ox-hair hats all of 'em black except the singer with white hair. I remember them jumping around energetically with big, tall red candle operas as stage props. I was amused and was anticipating an amazing lead, guitar break. Mick got his Que and squawked and squealed an incoherent cacophony of twangs. He was no Eddie Van Halen, but their outfits were snappy and the rhythm section was tight as a tick.

Very cool story. Amazing how we found out about bands. Now it's easy. The 70's & 80's were a magical time for finding out about new bands.

Good stories Space & T ! I first found out about Motley Crue when a guy I played hockey with made me a cassette with Shout at the Devil on one side and Venom's Black Metal on the other side. He told me this is really wild stuff and he was right. Venom seemed a bit too dark for me although I did enjoy Teacher's Pet in a comedic sense. Motley Crue however...was great and I actually went out and bought the vinyl right away and I opened the vinyl when I got to the car and couldn't believe the gatefold photos. To me they looked like the sons or brothers of Kiss and I became a fan. In January 1984 I got to see Motley Crue open for Ozzy(kind of funny because I remember thinking at the time "Wow, Ozzy moves around like an old man!". It was a great show overall and to top it off Waysted with Pete Way opened the show

It's nice to see that one of the guys from Whitehorse did something with his life.
