We are going to Vegas April 16-21 and Pat Banatar is playing there the 18th. So I plan on going to that. I also won tickets to the Moody Blues on the radio a few months ago for their April 8th show here in Columbus, Ohio.

I'm into my second day off because of snow and have a little time on my hands. I figured I'd give my two cents on some of these bands you guys are going to see that I've seen before......just for shits and giggles.
Eddie Money-Saw him in 2000, he was kinda a joke. I remember he was unbuttoning his shirt acting like he was teasing the women, when, in reality i don't think anyone cared to see his love handles and man-boobs. He also tried (and failed) to sing Ronnie Spector's parts on "Take Me Home Tonight". Not sure what he was thinking, he could hardly hit the notes on his vocal parts. His band was really good though. A buddy of mine saw him in the late '80's and said he was really good, so he does have it in him.
REO Speedwagon-Saw them several times in the 90's and 2000's. Always a solid show. Very tight set as they pretty much have played the same 15 songs 200 times a year for 20+ years. Weak spot is Kevin Cronin whose voice gets irritating after a while, but the band behind him is great. Highlight is when bassist Bruce Hall sings "Back On The Road Again". With Cronin a non-factor on that song, the band rocks out with a renewed energy. Wish they did more songs like this. Last time I saw them, I noticed Dave Amato was covering the high parts in songs where Cronin no longer had the range.
Quiet Riot-Saw them in 2001. Rudy Sarzo is the show IMO. Carlos Carvazo just stands there and looks at his feet for the set, Banali is ok, Kevin Dubrow was a joke. I remember him trying to get women to take their tops off and they just looked at him like "For you?" Dubrow is gone (RIP) not sure who's singing for them now or who is with them other than Banali (I believe he owns the name), but if Sarzo is there, it will be an awesome show!
Firehouse-I remember seeing these guys on "Friday Night Live" back in the early 1990's. Of course "Love Of A Lifetime" was their big hit and soon they had several more sappy ballad, semi-hits that annoyed the hell out of me in the 90's. Having said that, I saw these guys open for Foreigner and they were really good....I might even say great.
Great White-I saw them one week before they literally burned the house down in Connecticut. They were really good.
Ratt-Ok, it's not Ratt, it's Stephen Pearcy performing Ratt. I think he was with Ratt when I saw them. They put on a good show, but I recall just wishing they'd play "Round And Round" so I could go home.
LA Guns-I saw them as part of a package deal with Ratt, Great White and Poison. Nothing too memorable about them good or bad.
Poison-Again, not Poison, Brett Micheals performing Poison. Which may be better. Poison was great when I saw them, I'm sure Brett will still put on a helluva show and won't have to put up with CC.
Styx-Saw them both with and without Dennis DeYoung. With DeYoung, I thought they were awesome as the show was more of an event than a concert. With Lawrence Gowan in his place, Styx shows are less an event and more of a party. Which is better? Both are great. And if Gowan's nasal bleat doesn't make you forget DeYoung's smooth tenor, his high-energy stage antics more than make up for it in comparison to DeYoung's, usually, stilted performances. James Young and Tommy Shaw bring it every time, very underrated as a guitar duo.
Pat Benatar-Saw her twice, always a good show. Neil Girardo is a monster on guitar. Don't expect to hear "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" though. She didn't play it the one time I saw her, the other time, the band played it and she got a couple girls from the audience to sing it....badly.

Oh...im also going to Clutch/Mastodon/Graveyard show this summer. I am going to the same show here in Raleigh. It's an outdoor event here. Saw Mastodon at the end of last summer at a Raleigh weekend festival called Hopscotch. They were great. Clutch I have seen about three times...but the last time I saw them was around 2001 in New Orleans. Looking forward to seeing them again. Graveyard I have not seen yet. I have their last couple albums and think they are a really good band....I have heard they are better live.
